The best lamp for a 224A is an Osram replacement lamp. It's not OEM, but as far as 1.3 mm arc with high pre-charge voltage lamps go, it's probably your best bet (Philips doesn't seem to make them anymore). I wouldn’t advise you to change out the ballast. Is there a better bulb i can replace it with. If there is what do i need and will i need to replace the ballast for a different bulb.
