Re: Samsung DLP Fan Issue
Thanks Grayfox. I'm not very adept at posting. I was hoping the message would be posted in the forum AND be sent to you. I will try the thermometer because it is cheap, but I'm not sure why that would be a problem since the sensor seems to be monitoring the performance of the bulb fan. There is no a...

Samsung DLP Fan Issue
I have an HL-P5085W that turns on, but displays a flashing "check fan #1" message and then shuts down after about a minute. This model only has one fan — the one for the bulb — and that registers as "fan #2". What is malfunctioning and telling the unit that a) it has two fans and...

Re: Flashing 'Check Fan #1' Message
grayfox,
The ballast? Really? I guess I was thinking it may be the sub-detect board.
As a matter of fact I was just going online to order a sub-detect board! Let me know what your thinking is on this. It is as important for me to know the why as the what.
Thanks in advance.

Flashing 'Check Fan #1' Message
I have a Samsung HL-P5085 that I have been repairing. I just replaced the digital board and when I turn the set on I get a nice — albeit inverted — picture but I also get a flashing 'Check Fan #1' message. The tv stays on for about 1 minute and then shuts off. I cleaned the fan — there is only one f...

Re: Samsung DLP Model HLP5085W
BYO et al., I just checked the model # HL-P5063W that is printed on the digital board, and I can tell by the pictures on Amazon and other sites that sold it that it is NOT the tv that I have. Mine is one of the Captain Kirk pedestal models. So I'm guessing it is model HL-P5085W. I was given this tv ...

Re: Samsung DLP Model HLP5085W
Well it seems like light engine is not the issue at all..... :geek: To confirm this double check that lamp is ON, if you can sere the glow of the lamp, non of the components of the light engine are bad (you already replace lamp dmd and color wheel, if lamp is ON ballast is working properly ...
