I am having the exact same problem!! With my 2.5 year old HL-S5087WX/XAA PF01 an after reading your post I have decided to drop it off at a local Samsung office in front of there lobby!!

DLP Picture Freezes
I have a 2.5 year old Samsung HL-S5087W DLP. About a week ago the picture started to Freeze. The sound continues but the picture just locks, does not go black just freezes still.
