replaced colorwheel, but now won't stay on

Postby fox7373 » Fri Jul 24, 2009 6:32 am

I have a samsung hlr4667 dlp for 3 years now. I replaced a shattered colorwheel with the housing myself. After trying to fire it up, it would come on for 5 seconds (picture looked good/no unusual noises), then it shuts itself off (the chime sounded a little weird when it did so--not sure if that matters though). Both the "lamp" and the "standby/temp" indicators started flashing.
After opening the back, I can see the fans (dustless) running and the bulb does come on...

Any ideas on what's going on/how to fix this?
Thanks.

Well, according to your manual (which you can check here: ) the flashing code you have means that the lamp door isn't properly closed. However your lamp is turning on, so I guess the problem could be in the DMD board, which is the controller (the one in charge of turning the TV off when something is not OK) of the system. You can also check if your switch is working properly.

Hope this helps.

You're absolutely correct when it came to the switch! For whatever reason, after being screwed in, the panel didn't want to fully trip the switch...a small piece of electrical tape did the trick.

Thanks "NEhelp"; not just for my post, but for all others you'd help (while researching my problem, I noticed you've help many other too...Thanks!!!!) Keep up the good work!
