Samsung HLR4667WAX/XAA on off on off........

Postby scott4957 » Sat Dec 05, 2009 3:43 am

Different symptoms then others. It started by showing the green/purple checker board and having trouble turning on, then the lockups, and finally just would not turn on at all. I replaced the lamp and now, when plugged in it turns on, shows video and sound for about 5 seconds, locks up, screen goes black, restarts and does it again, over and over. I pulled the power supply and checked for damaged capacitors, everything looks good. Lamp comes on just fine, and ballast seems fine. Lamp door switch is fine. Color wheels sounds like its spinning up with out any funny noises. I guess what input I am on doesn't matter seeing that I cant change it. Prior to this when I was getting the checkerboard pattern I had the same on S-video and the antenna. All that is left that I can think of is the "what I think is called" DMD board? I only have 4k hours on this thing and just paid 125 bucks for a lamp, I'm not too happy and I have found hundreds of other posts with the same issues. Aside from fixing it, has anyone had any luck getting Samsung to do anything out of warranty? If they gave me a fraction of what I paid for this POS towards another TV I would be happy at this point. I'm going on several months without this thing working. Thanks for any help!

it's the digital board. green plaid look and all is the digital board. also powering on issues is the digital board. send it in to have the solder reflowed. check out this link to find more info about this issues

I trouble shot it down the the dnie chip on the digital board some time ago. we tried putting pressure on it with some luck but after so long the issues came back. then i found a guy that reflows xbox 360 chips and asked him about reflowing the chip on these boards. so far people have had very good luck with the solder reflow.

Thanks, I'll give this fix a try and see how it works.
