Samsung Ballast/Lamp upgrade question

I have a Samsung HLP6163WX/XAA that I bought in early 2004. Believe it was one of the later ones made as Samsung then went to a newer model. I was on the fixyourdlp website and found an article http://www.fixyourdlp.com/guides/samsun ... 00608a.php on how you could replace the lamp with the upgraded BP96-00608A that has 120W/132W and the smaller bulb.

I went to Discount-Merchant.com and tried to order it with the adapter. The customer rep checked and told me that the ballast was not compatible with the new lamp.

Does anyone know if this TV ballast is compatible with the brighter lamp ? I thought my ballast was rated to put out 120W ....
