How to trouble shoot, already tried lamp

Postby mdmsstone » Sat Oct 16, 2010 2:00 pm

Loud pop followed by light going dim then bright repeatedly and then a very loud buzz. Where to start?

Well I broke down and called the repairman--Buzz was bad motor and pop was the color wheel shattering. Ka-Ching $400.

Most probably was just a replacement of color wheel. There are no motors in the TV the only thing that works like a motor is the color wheel, and pop sound was glass for color wheel shattering. A replacement color wheel cost about $95 - $120 dlls.
