Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a Samsung hlp5663w 56" DLP off of craigslist and after bringing it home I found it has this black line on the left. The picture looks great and the bulb has ~1800 hours on it along with a color wheel that was replaced last year. I tried going into the service menu to see if there is some settings I could change but I don't really know what I am doing. It seems like the projector gun is slightly off and is cutting the picture off on the right by a inch or two. Here is some pictures to illustrate the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks again!

wow, we did the same i just got one of craiglist and it has a black line on the bottom, i was researching online for hours and i found out that its the alinement of the screen that is bad, heres a link that talks about fixing it. http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthre ... 926&page=9

they say its a set of 3 gold screws that are in the dmd board u need to remove the plate covering the boad it has 3 plastic taps on it and u will see the screws loosen them but dont remove them and move the board slightly and have someone tell u if the picture is better. im gonna fix mine now. hope it helps.

You have a DMD board out of alignment, what you need to do is find the positioning screws on the DMD (typically covered with round plastic caps) and move the DMD board slightly to the left or the right.
I have to tell you this can be a little tedious and frustrating procedure if you never done it before, do it in front of a mirror.
