HLN567W DLP TV
HLN567W DLP TV - Component picture OK Analog inputs have RF type lines in picture. Help!
Re: HLN567W DLP TV
Hmmm can you describe in some more detail? Like… the lines only appear when you connect something to the analog inputs? Have you hooked up a HDMI or computer component to the TV? Can you take a picture of the lines or describe them more.

This TV doesn't have HDMI inputs - This is an early model 2004 - Component inputs are clean - Have no way of taking a picture of problem
Diagonal lines float thru pix - Sometimes up the screen and sometimes down the screen. I'm thinking a bad filter cap on one of the power supplies
that drives the analog circuits only.

Sound like the digital board or the DMD. To be sure turn on your TV (until the diagonal lines appear) and press the menu button, if the menu appears normal and with out problems then I suggest you check the digital board (if you see any swollen capacitors replace them, if not then in might be the a general failure) on the contrary if the menu doesn’t show up or is distorted in any way, then it’s the DMD board that needs replacing.

If the digital board or the DMD were bad, wouldn't the LINES be in the component picture also?
Re: HLN567W DLP TV
Ok, that confirms it, it’s the analog board, you see the video board is divided in two sections, analog and digital, it receives all external signals from outside devices, if just the analog input is having those lines then probably the analog circuit is failing, you’ll have to replace it.

I'm going to pull the analog board and check all the capacitors [ I suspect a bad cap ] - I won't be doing this any time soon, but when I do I'll post the results. Thanks for your help!
Re: HLN567W DLP TV
If it's too costly, I'd say just not to use it. Component is way better anyway! Plus if you have a receive, you can plug everything into that if you still have the need for analog inputs like composite or coaxial.

I never thought of that - It's a good idea. I just might do it that way. You've been very helpful - Thanks again!
