Please help me diagnose my Samsung DLP issue....

First off I'm new to the website, but I need help in repairing my Samsung DLP TV.
I have a Samsung Model# HLP5063W DLP TV. All of a sudden the picture went black because the lamp turned off but I can still hear sound. What is odd is once it does this I can't turn the TV off with either the remote or the push button off on the front of the TV. There are also no error code lights flashing on the front of the TV either. However, before the issue starts it will let me power the TV off/on.
I have to unplug the TV to turn it off. When I plug in the TV it will start working as normal with both picture and sound. But give it a few minutes the picture will go black again because the lamp turns off but still will have sound and again TV will not turn off. I've noticed that the ballast still sparks. Lamp is not obviously burnt out or broken as it still lights up, but will go out. All fans appear to be turning, ballast sparks, and I cleaned all dust out of the unit. Is it likely my lamp is bad or is it likely something else?
I'm no stranger to working on these as I've replaced both my lamp and color wheel in the past. But the TV not allowing me to turn it off is a new one to me. And the previous bulb I changed out a while back was obviously burnt out. This one is not, but could it still be bad?
Any help greatly appreciated.....
