Samsung hl50a650 randomly turning off.

Just replaced Lamp and Ballast through discountmerchant.com

I can turn on the TV just fine. Everything works. BUT on some random occasions, maybe once every other day, the TV will turn off and all 3 lights will blink at the bottom. I will unplug for a minute then plug back in and turn on and it works just fine.
Sometimes when trying to turn back on I will get a low pitch but occasionally loud humming that will only last a couple of seconds.
No smell by the way.

Any thoughts? Did I get a bad ballast?

Check your lamp timer and make sure the hours have been cleared back to 0. Other than that check the connectors and make sure they are connected all the way in.
