Input Failing?

Postby gr00veth3ory » Sun Apr 12, 2009 9:03 pm

Greetings all, great site! Didn't want to post a new topic but couldn't find what I was looking for...To sum it up quickly my component input 1 on my HL P5085W does not show a picture nor emit any sound. Just happened over night I guess...Although sometimes the picture would degrade a little and then eventually go out...All the other inputs work fine. So I was trying to take a look but I can't figure out how to get the back panel to come off...All of the screws are removed but it still feels as if its attached to something...And I obviously don't want to put to much elbow grease to force it off and possibly break something...

Any ideas and is there any way I can release that back panel?

gr00veth3ory,
Make sure you all the screws of the back panel of your TV removed, it should fall right off.

look at this ballast repacement guide to get an idea of what you are working with:

Also, the problem you are describing seems to be caused by a failing ANALOG Board. They are expensive from Samsung but Discount-Merchant.com has them for a very reasonable price. Here is a link:

If you can find one for your Tv, I would pick it up ASAP... These parts are getting harder and harder to come by.
