Which ColorWheel is more reliable ?

I have a Samsung 46" DLP TV Model No: HL-P4663w, SVC #: HLP4663wx/xaa

The unit was made Jan 2005. The unit had the colorwheel fail about 1.5 years ago. The bulb was replaced about a year ago.

Now the color wheel has failed again (clear segment exploded). Since it only lasted 1 year... I am wondering which is better - The Air Bearing one or the Ball bearing one.
(I assume the original one was the ball bearing design but I am uncertain as I did not do that repair… Which ever design it was… it lasted over 3 years)

Air Bearing (FAB Bearing - SILVER) or Ball Bearing (FDB Bearing - GOLD).

1. I have read that the Air Bearing one is the most recent design... Is this correct?
2. Is the Air Bearing design more reliable? This has not been my experience.

I have the L3 Chassis and the part that most recently failed is: L3/BP61-01687A
The actual color wheel is (as written on the Color wheel cable):
Oerlikon Shanghai co., ltd 2009 4-21
Samsung 102327104 *ss062813*

3. Are there any other factors that affect the problem?

Thanks in advance for your insight.

Could the root cause of these failing be a software issue... where it stops the color wheel from turning and the light is still on ?
