Samsung HLT5076SX/XAA problem? brand new lamp...

I'm hoping someone can help me diagnose my DLP problem.
We replaced our lamp in July of this year, so the lamp is only three months old. However, today the TV turned off and now the lamp LED is flashing. The TV tries to power on and sounds like it is, yet the lamp LED keeps flashing and then the TV shuts down, tries to power back on and the LED keeps flashing again. It repeats this until we finally unplug the unit (we wait until the TV is shutting down and in standby mode).
We called Samsung and asked for a replacement lamp and since we have a 90 day warranty they are going to give us a new one, but I'm concerned it's not the lamp since the lamp is so new. We're thinking maybe the fan? The picture has been perfect, no problems at all. Does this sound like a fan problem?
ANy input would be greatly appreciated!!!
Also, if it is the fan, is that something we can do ourselves? Where is the fan located, I took the back panel off and didn't see it? Thank you!!!
