DLP Light Tunnel

Hello,

I thought my lap was bad and knew the color wheel was
dead as it has been screeming for a month. However the
lamp still is good with 17,000 + hours.. But I put in the
new one anyway...

In changing the colorwheel I noticed the Light Tunnel
seemed out of place. (looking into it from side) I removed
it and found it has come unglued and was in 4 pieces.

I ordered a new one online for $42.00

What is the object for the light tunnel? Would superglue
have fixed the item with all the heat? I thought of that
but would hate to see the tv catch on fire and the mirrors
see to be missing some of the reflective part in some
places.

Otherwise, I took the TV farther apart (front screen off)
to check for dust and dirt on the mirror and it was like
new inside the cover so I closed it back up.

I cleaned up all the dust on the fans and other areas
and now I'm just waiting on the Light tunnel to arrive.

Thanks for all the info on this site as it made this a simple
task to complete a job I would have never attemped to do
on my own..

Now I hope the labeling of connectors I took off makes putting it
all back together as easy as it was to take apart.

THANKS ! ! !

Thanks.. It seems maybe thats the issue with the light tunnels..

The factory is using superglue.. I can't believe all the people
that have that issue.
