DLP sensor board (remote issue)

Hello, I have a problem with a remote control that works intermittently on my Samsung DLP. I've googled and determined that it is probably a dry socket on the sensor board (definitely not the remote as issue here). The only problem is that I don't know how to get to it to check it out. The model is HLR6178. Does anyone know where it is in the TV and how to get to it? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

It is usually in the front panel and is part of the button set of the tv... It is highly unlikely for this to go out a more likelihood would be the remote itself...

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the reply Grayfox. Tried 3 remotes, and finally googled enough to figure out that it's probably not the unit itself that is going bad. With an intermittent problem (sometimes on sometimes off) like this that it is likely to be a dry solder joint. Sounds like I access this from the front panel. Any idea how to take this off (hlr 6178) or where I can get a service guide that will tell me how? Thanks again.

sorry to hear that! well in my experience I have been troubled to remove the back shell in order to be able to access the front panel from the inside ;)

once you find the sensor if is seems unfixable I found these while searching for a repair guide for your TV..
