Green screen after changing color wheel
My HLN507WX recently made a humming noise for about 30 seconds and died. I replaced the color wheel and the picture is back but is solid green with yellow writing. I can access the menus, view satellite pictures fine, except they too have this Green/yellow problem. Any suggestions?
Re: Green screen after changing color wheel
with the tv off press mute 1 8 2 power. it will enter the service mode. see if there are any settings for the color wheel.

Hi Jason,
Give us a bit more information about your situation. Did you purchase the correct color wheel? From what I can see, you should have the BP96-00250A as it's the one that's compatible with all these TV models (yours being one of the X revision models):
HLM4365W HLM437W
HLM5065W HLM507W
HLM617W HLN4365W
HLN437W HLN467W
HLN5065W HLN507W
HLN567W HLN617W
Did you do the install yourself? Colorwheels can me tricking since these things speed upwards of 6,00 rpms - the timing on them is critical. If you've got the wrong one, I can see why you would be getting green. Don't know about the yellow writing though, that's odd, can you post a few pictures online?
You're original symptoms point to a color wheel but if you did the work properly it's looking more like the optical block :(

Re: Green screen after changing color wheel
Yes, it is the correct color wheel. I've been in the service menu, but it doesn't have anything that specifically mentions the color wheel. The color wheel had one section break loose and was causing the noise and loss of video. The sound is fine. not familiar with the block.
Re: Green screen after changing color wheel
i am not sure are there any jumpers or anything on the color wheel. also check to make sure the wires are tight. make sure the ribbion cable is in the right way and not backwords. also you may of received a bad color wheel.
