Problem in replacing HLN507W original ballast

I found that my Samsung HLN507W (HLN507WX/XAA) original ballast does not work well with the new replacement Osram lamp. The TV is on for 30-50 sec and turns it off. I believe the Osram requires the same ballast the Phillips lamp. I bought the new ballast BP47-00017A from DM, but my TV has ballast AA47-00008A. The big problem is that the DMD connector of BP47-00017A(Phillip) has 5 pin socket, but my existing DMD connector is 3 pin.

Need your help:
1. Any adapter to convert 3 pin to 5 pin?
2. What are the definitions of the 3 pin output of AA47-00008A?
What are the definitions of the 5 pin output of BP47-00017A
3. Can you find a connector part number that connects DMD to BP47-00017A(Phillip)?

I know there is a Toshiba to Phillip change kit, but I already bought the ballast, does not want to spend another $210. BTW, I also has the Phillip lamp connector. The only thing missing is the DMD to new Phillip ballast connector.

Thank you very much,

in the service menu you can pick the kind of lamp you are ussing. with the tv off hit mute 1 8 2 power. I forget what menu it's in but i know i saw it. you have to do it fast. it's going to cost more to convert it then it will cost to buy a new replacement lamp.

I used mute 1-8-2 power to get in the service menu, but I could not find the option for change lamp brand. My firmware version is DEC 2002 for HLN507W.

BTW, I installed the Toshiba to Phillip lamp kit. However my Osram lamp still makes TV shutdown after 30-50 sec staying on. I didn't use the new Phillip lamp yet. I used a old Toshiba lamp that could not be turned on, and this time it did come up and running, but TV appears a bit dimmer.

I am not sure were it's at in your settings. I know mine has an option that says lamp under one of teh menus and it says phillips beside it and i can change it to the kind you have and some other kind.

I finally ordered the Toshiba to Phillips conversion kit. It worked well, but the Osram bulb didn't work with the new ballast either, but the Phillip bulb works well. I even used one old Toshiba bulb that didn't work with old Toshiba ballast. After the conversion, the Toshiba one worked, but the light was dimmer. This old Toshiba bulb worked for about one month, but it burned out.

My conclusions for HLN507W users are
1. Do get the conversion kit and convert to Phillips as the bulb supply is available
2. DO NOT buy Osram bulb, not worthy the money. I bought two of them, one from River Vally Electronics from eBay, the other from DM on eBay. The first one from River Vally Electronics (made in Czech) worked for 6 months and died. When I returned it with 180 warranty, their technician claimed it was good in their test(Don't know how they did it!). This one didn't work even after the conversion kit and sits in my garage now. The second one from DM (made in China) lasted only 3-4 months. I am sending as an RMA to DM. Hope DM will honor the warranty and give me a replacement.
3. Buy Phillips bulb.
