New color wheel lasted only 30 days

I haven't noticed that others have had to replace a color wheel after only 30 days. Given all the problems I see posted, and like many others ahead of me, how much do I put into this thing? Before I order another one and mess it up, can anyone tell me if there is something I may have done to cause it to go our so quickly?

I have a HL-P5674W, and as it went out it went blk & wht and then went dark. It would come back on again if I cycled the power, but only for a few minutes. It did that a few times, and now it will not respond. The color wheel is shattered again. Does any of this behavior signal that there may be other problems in addition to the color wheel?
Thanks so much.
Gene

you need to check the housing that the color wheel goes into. make sure nothing is worped and that it isn't rubbing anything. if everything checks out you could of just bought a bad color wheel. did you buy it new or was it a used color wheel? if it was used it may of had issues when you bought it. the barrings could of been going out and someone could of added a little lube to make it quiet. never buy a used color wheel unless it has a warranty.
