Collapsing light tunnel???
I just started getting a black vertical bar on the right side of my tv. Over a few minutes time the bar grew in size towards the center of the tv. We have an RCA 60 inch HD DLP. We had to change the bulb out last year and now we are encountering this problem. I've been doing some research on this issue and found that it may be a collaping light tunnel. If this is the case can the repair be done at home without calling in a repair man?
Re: Collapsing light tunnel???
I m new to this site I dont know if you got a response yet
Yes you can do this you self
Take the back of the tv off
Then take the light engine assembly off there are 3 screws holding it to the back of the screen (mark around the screw placement with a marker)
once off take the color wheel off its located beteween the bulb and black tube be very careful not to damage it seat it aside
then unscrew the bulb cage from the rest of the light engine the the light tunel wheel be expose its held by two screws to the bulb cage you can just mount the new one and then reverst the process.
