We were watching the Scenium a few days ago when there was a momentary power glitch. The set turned off immediately. Although I have a Transtector surge and transient suppressor supplying the entertainment unit, it would not turn back on. I unplugged the set for a while, and when I plugged it back in, the front panel lights and power indicator came on solid for a few seconds, blinked 5 times, stayed on a few more seconds, then went out.
I have replaced the lamp, as my wife noticed the picture getting dim the last week or so, but it still does the same thing.
I've tried both the remote and the front panel power buttons.
I work on Medical Imaging electronics for a living, and have all the test equipment and tools I need to do my own repair, but have no service manual or idea of where to start. The only things I've been able to determine so far is the main fuse is OK, which the front panel lights told me anyway.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
