My Toshiba 52hm84 turns on with NO blinking leds, just solid red for power. The sound works but NO picture, NO menus. I took the back off, checked everything I could think of, cleaned everything and temporarily ran it with the colorwheel cover off. The colorwheel spins, fans are spinning and the lamp is on.

When I turn it off, it switches to low power I assume because it is less bright and it cools down.

What could it be?

This sounds like just a lamp issue, when was the last time you changed the lamp? It can be very dim, so as to not give you a pic, these lights are brighter than the sun! if it is an old lamp I suggest you change it!
