My Samsung HL-S4266W DLP TV (2-3yrs old) keeps shutting off completely randomly.
All vents are clean and internal fan works. Have even put a 12" oscillating fan pointed at vent and TV set still imtermittently shuts off. When I turn it back on the picture quality is still perfect.
Is there any overheat thermocouple devices that could be replaced? During Google search, I find that "MANY" people are experienceing this problem. Seems like a DLP product defect.
Certain what it is NOT:
1) A failing/failed bulb. Picture looks great when TV is on.
2) A fan failure. It's working.
3) Not sleep mode or any auto mode.
Conditions:
No unusual noise....clicking, humming, buzzing.
No LED warning lights.
Happens in winter or summer........year round.

Re: DLP shutting off intermittently - HL-S4266W
atitagain.
There is a temperature sensor in your TV. Is located above the lamp place. Check the part number, it must be something like AA41-00801 and some letter at the end. Then you can find it at D-M:
Hope this helps...

Re: DLP shutting off intermittently - HL-S4266W
THANKS for confirming that there is an overheat sensor. I'll start there.......and hopefully end there.
