Bad power board ?
LG RU-44SZ5511D I think the power board might be bad. How can you tell if a capacitor is bad ? The TV will start to power up and then shut back down. Please help.
Re: Bad power board ?
Whoa, lets back up little bit.
Lets start with the TVs symptoms.
How long ago did you purchase your TV?
Have you replace the lamp before?
If yes, how long ago?
Have you ever had maintenance done to the TV in the last 6 months?
Do you hear any strange noises coming from the back of the TV?
Some times the capacitors tend to become swollen from the top (it normally happens in the digital board).
How ever I don’t think it’s the power supply.

I have never replaced the lamp. I wll have to check it out. The TV is about 6 yrs. old. I do hear a noise in the back of the TV and there is a part on the power board that is flashing. Thank you for your reply. ....... :)

WOW, 6 years with the same lamp! That a record. You definitely need to replace the lamp, how ever that noise that you hear is it a constant clicking sound, if yes then the ballast might also needs replacing.
