Issue with Samsung HLR-5078W. DMD Board?

Hello all.



Just found a Samsung HLR-5078WX/XAA on the side of the road, hate to see these go to the dump so I grabbed it.



Hooked it up and it works but the picture has color issues, looks almost like a cartoon (see attached pics). Note that the picture is where the issue is, if I bring up a menu screen it looks correct.



The bulb light is blinking and the bulb is dim but I don't see how that could cause this?



I opened it up and checked out the color wheel and that seems fine.



I have read that basically everything on these points to the DMD board? Does that sound right and where in the heck can I find one? Anything else I should try first? Thank you in advance for the help.

Sorry for the long delay in responding. The DMD is a possibility although the main board can also be at fault. It's hard to know exactly which one but obviously if one does not solve the issue then the other should. For parts I recommend going to www.discount-merchant.com. They still have a lot of these parts and at a good reasonable price. Please let us know how it goes.
