picture is upside down???

Postby aggiegrad92 » Sat Nov 28, 2009 8:29 pm

Model HLS5086W, frozen pixels, I replace the DMD board. When I reassembled everything, the picture was upside down...what went wrong?

OK, so I was able to flip the picture, but now everything is a shade of blue. Do I now have to adjust the color too?

It maybe one of the settings. you maybe able to copy settings from the light engine. but not sure about your model. I know some things but not all. you may have to pick what kind of lamp you are using and things like that. if your board still powered on your set it would of been good to of copied down the settings in the menus.

I have an hlr5067w I will check my settings. the tv's are almost the same but not the same. I think you can set up what kind of dmd board you have. I need to check and get back to you what you have to change. I was playing with the settings of mine before and it turned blue but i cant remember what one i changed.

make sure the correct type of lamp you are using is picked in the service menu. if it has the wrong kind it will change the color of the video.

if it's stock it's most likely phillips but if you look at the lamp it also should tell you the brand. also with a new dmd board you have have to pick the brand of color wheel. that also can change the color. change the settings and if it makes it work then you know you found the issue. if not change it back to the settings it had.

OK, so here's what I finally did to fix my hunk o' junk...
I bought a DMD chip and installed it in the new DMD board...pixels fixed but still upside down...
Installed the new DMD chip in the original DMD board...ALL Better...back to normal.
Pixels fixed, picture right side up, color perfect.

Done.

Thanks for all the help!

did you have the white dot issue? samsung is fixing them for free if that was your issue.
