Fix Your DLP Wizard

The television turns on, but there is distorted picture or pixilation.

The picture is distorted and choppy.

A distorted and choppy picture may mean a few things. Try these no-brainer solutions first:

  • Tune to a proper channel
  • Connect your cable box or DVD player

If it's still distorted, there may be trouble with your light engine or display module. The DMD is a chip with millions of tiny mirrors that relay the light onto your screen. If you see areas with dark spots in the center, you may have an issue with the DMD board, or DMD chip itself.

If your picture is distorted or pixilated, it is definitely not the lamp. The lamp only acts as a light source. The light is then processed and reflected through a series of other components and mirrors which may be causing this issue.

Philips UHP lamps only fail about .03% of the time out of the factory. That's 3 in 10,000! If you've already purchased a lamp, give us a call and we'll do our best to help you.
