      Hi Simon,
Have you checked your air filter? If it hasn’t been cleaned and is clogged it can block the air flow and cause the projector to overheat quickly. Also check there is nothing blocking the air vents on the projector. If you need more advice or help, jump on and join our forum. We have a community of experts waiting to help you!

I have an Epson EH-TW5800 projector, and recently it just turns off after about 70 mins, it has done this on various occasions. it sounds like an over heat problem, once it cools down it can be turned back on. I think it might be the fan, has anyone else had this problem that can advise me before I get in touch with Epson.

    Thank you

      Hi Errol,
Have you checked your air filters? If they are at all clogged, the air flow can’t circulate in the projector and it will overheat vary quickly. Cleaning your filters is very easy. Here’s an article that may help: http://www.fixyourdlp.com/2013/07/31/have-you-cleaned-your-1080p-filter-today/
The other thing to check is if you hear the fan running when the projector is on – if you hear it running but it still turns off it’s more than likely clogged fliters. You will have to send it in for repairs if the fan is broken. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.
      Regards,
      Shelagh
