Replacing the 4719-001997 DLP Chip

Step 1

Step 1: Put on the plastic gloves. Loosen all the screws found on the back panel. Put the screws to one side and remove the back panel.

Step 2: Loosen the two screws holding the lamp bracket in place.

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Disconnect all the connectors. Important: don’t yank any cables.

Step 4

Step 4: Carefully remove light engine from the cabinet.

Step 5

Step 5: Remove the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 6

Step 6: Carefully disconnect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 7

Step 7: Disconnect the clip connecting the cooling unit.

Step 8

Step 8: Remove the cooling unit and terminal board.

Step 9

Step 9: Remove the terminal board.

Step 10

Step 10: Loosen the 7 screws holding the terminal cover in place. (Good time to dust this section).

Step 11

Step 11: Carefully pop the terminal out of its holder.

Step 12

Step 12: Unlock the old DLP Chip from the terminal. You may need to use a flat edged screwdriver to pop it out.

Step 13

Step 13: Place the new DLP chip into place. Handle the DMD DLP CHIP only by the edges because it is very sensitive to static electricity.

Step 14: Put the terminal back into its holder.

Step 15

Step 15: Tighten the 7 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 16

Step 16: Replace the terminal board’s cover.

Step 18: Re-connect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 19

Step 19: Tighten the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 20: Carefully replace the light engine back into the cabinet.

Step 21: Replace and tighten the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Re-connect all the connectors.

Equipment needed

- Electric Philips screwdriver
- needle nose pliers or a 5mm nut driver
- antistatic gloves OR plastic gloves used with an antistatic wrist band
- soft cloth or brush

Replacing the 4719-001997 DLP Chip

Step 1

Step 1: Put on the plastic gloves. Loosen all the screws found on the back panel. Put the screws to one side and remove the back panel.

Step 2

Step 2: Loosen the two screws holding the lamp bracket in place.

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Disconnect all the connectors. Important: don’t yank any cables.

Step 4

Step 4: Carefully remove light engine from the cabinet.

Step 5

Step 5: Remove the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 6

Step 6: Carefully disconnect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 7

Step 7: Disconnect the clip connecting the cooling unit.

Step 8

Step 8: Remove the cooling unit and terminal board.

Step 9

Step 9: Remove the terminal board.

Step 10

Step 10: Loosen the 7 screws holding the terminal cover in place. (Good time to dust this section).

Step 11

Step 11: Carefully pop the terminal out of its holder.

Step 12

Step 12: Unlock the old DLP Chip from the terminal. You may need to use a flat edged screwdriver to pop it out.

Step 13

Step 13: Place the new DLP chip into place. Handle the DMD DLP CHIP only by the edges because it is very sensitive to static electricity.

Step 14

Step 14: Put the terminal back into its holder.

Step 15

Step 15: Tighten the 7 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 16

Step 16: Replace the terminal board’s cover.

Step 17

Step 17: Reconnect the clip holding the cooling unit.

Step 18

Step 18: Re-connect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 19

Step 19: Tighten the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 20

Step 20: Carefully replace the light engine back into the cabinet.

Step 21

Step 21: Replace and tighten the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Re-connect all the connectors.

Step 22

Step 22: Put the light engine back into the RPTV. Tighten both screws that keep the back bracket in place.

Step 23

Step 23: Put the back panel onto the TV. Put the screws back into place and tighten them. Enjoy the crisp, clear picture on your Samsung HL72A650C1FXZA RPTV.

Turn the lamp knob counter clockwise to the unlocked position.

Tighten the screws on the projector lamp lid.

Tighten the screws on the projector lamp. Turn the lamp knob

clockwise to the locked position.

Put the lamp cover back on and tighten the two screws holding the cover in place.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

Each time you replace the ProjectionDesign 400-0003-00 projector lamp you will need to reset the ProjectionDesign Action Model 1 lamp timer so the projector can accurately track the lamp hours. To reset the:

Open the MENU option. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to the UTILTIES submenu.
Press reset the lamp time.

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

Guide to installing a new Mitsubishi WD570U projector lamp

Replacing the projector lamp

Your Mitsubishi WD570U uses the Mitsubishi VLT-XD560LP projector lamp model. The recommended interval of lamp replacement is 6000 hours of consecutive use depending on the usage. At 4500 hours the lamp indicator will blink between green and red; the LAMP REPLACEMENT message will appear on the screen for one minute. When the lamp has been used for about 5700 hours the LAMP REPLACEMENTwill appear on the screen for one minute every 30 hours. If you notice a decrease in luminescence and or color brightness your projector lamp may be reaching end of life. When the projector lamp is about to finish the message “LAMP EXCHANGE” will start blinking on the screen. The indicator will brink between green and red until the lamp is changed.

Changing the projector lamp

Before replacing the projector lamp, please follow these safety precautions.

Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the Mitsubishi WD570U projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch.

Step A: Remove the cover of the screw fixing the lamp cover with a fingernail or head screwdriver.

Step B: Remove the screw holding the lamp cover in place.

Step C: Slide the lamp cover off the projector.

Step D: Loosen the two screws holding the Mitsubishi VLT-XD560LP lamp in place.

Step E & F: Using the lamp handles, pull out the lamp. Take care not to bang the lamp. _lamp_VLT-XD560LP_liner

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CEILING MOUNTED PROJECTORS

If your projector is mounted on the ceiling you should use the specially designed lining to replace the lamp.

Step G: Fold the three portions of the replacement lamp attachment along the folding line.

Step H: Fit the lamp replacement attachment to the edge of the lamp cover attachment. Using the tape provided. Once covered, gently lift out the old lamp unit.

Be sure to recycle the used Mitsubishi VLT-HC910LP as it contains mercury. Do NOT place it into regular garbage.

If it is pulled out quickly, the lamp may break,scattering glass fragments.

Insert the new Mitsubishi VLT-HC910L into the projector. Tighten the two screws holding it in place. Put the lamp cover back on and tighten the cover screw.

You are now ready to reset the Mitsubishi WD570U projector lamp timer.

Resetting the Lamp Hour Timer

It’s important to only reset the lamp timer when the Mitsubishi WD570U lamp has been replaced. Resetting the projector lamp timer without changing the lamp can make it work beyond its recommended hours and cause harm to your projector.

To reset the lamp operation time

Plug in the power cord
Reset the lamp operation time by holding down the ARROW key and the POWER button on the control panel at the same time.
Make sure that the STATUS indicator blinks twice and the lamp operation time is reset successfully.
IMPORTANT: Unless these three buttons are pressed at the same time, the lamp operation time isn’t reset.
