How to replace the 4719-001997 DLP Chip

Step 1

Step 1: Put on the plastic gloves. Loosen all the screws found on the back panel.

Step 2: Put the screws to the side. Gently remove the back panel.

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the 3 screws holding the lamp engine in place.

Step 4

Step 4: Disconnect all the connectors. Important: don’t yank any cables.

Step 5

Step 5: Carefully slide the light engine from the cabinet.

Step 6

Step 6: Remove the 3 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 7

Step 7: Carefully disconnect the cable between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 8

Step 8: Disconnect the cables connecting the color wheel.

Step 9

Step 9: Loosen the 3 screws holding the cooling unit/fan to the terminal board.

Step 10

Step 10: Remove the cooling unit.

Step 11

Step 11: Loosen the 2 screws holding the terminal cover in place. (Good time to dust this section).

Step 12

Step 12: Loosen the 10 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 13

Step 13: Carefully pop the terminal out of its holder.

Step 14

Step 14: Unlock the old DLP Chip from the terminal. You may need to loosen the screw on the side or use a flat edged screwdriver to pop it out.

Step 15

Step 15: Place the new DLP chip into place. Handle the DMD DLP CHIP only by the edges because it is very sensitive to antistatic electricity.

Step 16

Step 16: Put the terminal back into its holder.

Step 17

Step 17: Tighten the 10 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 18

Step 18: Tighten the 2 screws on terminal board’s cover.

Step 19

Step 19: Put the fan unit back on.

Step 20

Step 20: Tighten the 3 screws holding the cooling unit/fan to the terminal board.

Step 21

Step 21: Reconnect the cables connecting the color wheel.

Step 22

Step 22: Reconnect the cable between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 23

Step 23: Replace the color wheel protective cover and tighten the 3 screws.

Step 24

Step 24: Re-connect all the cables running from the terminal board and light engine.

Step 25

Step 25: Carefully place the light engine back inside the unit. Tighten the 3 holding the terminal board and light engine in place.

Step 26

Step 26: Put the back panel back onto the TV.

Step 27: Tighten all the screws on the back panel. Enjoy your crisp, clear picture on your Mitsubishi WD-73642 RPTV.

Installing the projector lamp

Pre-installation Preparation:

- - Turn off the projector power and wait for the cool-down period which is about two minutes. Disconnect the power cord after the two minutes is over.
  - Wait at least 30 minutes to one hour for the Epson PowerLite 480 projector to cool internally before opening it up. It should be cool to the touch. This projector operates using intense heat so don’t attempt to change the lamp while the projector is hot as you run the risk of a severe burn.

Lift up the wire handle on the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp and gently pull the projector lamp out of the Epson PowerLite 480 projector lamp. Don’t knock the actual bulb as it may break.NOTE: The Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!Slowly insert the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp until it clicks into place. Be sure not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your skin will case black spots to be burned onto the lamp causing blackouts on the screen.Tighten the screws on the newly installed Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp.
Replace the lid on the Epson PowerLite 480 projector.
Tighten the screw on the projector lamp cover. Reset the lamp timer.
Resetting the lamp timer
The projector lamp timer will need to be reset after replacing the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp. This timer helps the Epson PowerLite 480 projector to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the timer when a new Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp has been installed, otherwise the projector will NOT know when it’s time to replace the lamp. You run the risk of damaging your projector.
- Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
- Scroll down to the RESET. Press ENTER.
- A prompt appears asking if you want to reset the lamp hours.
- Select YES. Press ENTER.
- Press the MENU button or ESC to exit the menus.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero. The lamp usage timer shows 0H until you’ve used the lamp for at least 10 hours.
Extend projector lamp life
Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP71 with the following tips:
- Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
- Turn off the Epson PowerLite 480 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
- Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

When it’s time to replace the Epson EB-955W projector lamp follow this guide

When it’s time to replace the Epson EB955W projector lamp you’ll notice the power indicator is flashing blue, and the lamp indicator is flashing orange. You may also notice the picture has gone dimmer or the color is off. An on screen message will also appear; “Time to replace the lamp. ” You can expect 4900 hours of use when the projector is set to Normal and about 5900 hours when the ECO mode has been started.

Why invest in authentic?

The best thing you can do to keep your prjector working properly is to buy an authentic Epson EB-955W projector lamp. Most counterfeit lamps cost more in the long run because they have a shorter life than original lamps. While counterfeits claim to be compatible they are often created with toxic materials including including Krypton-85. Lamps that are not OEM are prone to explosions and usually can damage the projector’s sensitive optics. Your eyesight is also at risk. Buy an OEM authentic Epson EB945 projector lamp and keep your projector working properly.

Installing the lamp

The Epson EB-955W projector uses model Epso n ELPLP78. Before installation:

Turn off the Epson EB-955W projector and unplug the AC cord.
Allow the projector to cool for one hour – it should be cool to the touch. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures and you run the risk of being burned if the projector has not cooled down.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

The Epson EB-955W lamp cover is on the side. Using a screwdriver to gently release the cover switch. Slide the lamp cover off.

Remove the two screws on either side of Epson ELPLP78 lamp. Place the screws to either side. Grip the raised section of the old lamp and remove it.

Take the new Epson ELPLP78 projector lamp by the handle and gently put it into place making sure the lamp is facing in the right direction.

Replace the projector lamps screws and re-connect the lamp cover. Re-attach the power cord. Turn the projector on and let it warm up. You are ready to reset the lamp timer.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP78 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamp.

Reset Lamp Timer

Reset the Epson Epson EB-955W Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP78 lamp has been replaced.

Press the down arrow to move down the menu to the RESET ALL option.
A prompt message appear. Select YES and press ENTER.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero.

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP78 with the following tips:

When is it time to replace

Turn off the projector and wait until the power lights stops flashing.
Unplug the power cord so the projector can’t be accidentally turned of while the lamp is being replaced.
Wait for at least one hour for the Epson PowerLite 1955 to cool down. It should be cool to the touch. These projectors operate under high heat and you can get burned very badly if the projector is still hot.

Use the same screwdriver to loosen the screws holding the Epson ELPLP75 projector lamp in place.

Grab wire handle lamp and gently pull up the Epson ELPLP75 projector lamp. Using too much force can break the bulb. Learn how to clean up after a bulb breaks.

Put the old projector lamp aside for proper recycling. These lamps can’t be thrown into the regular garbage as they contain mercury.

Hold the lamp so it faces the correct way and insert the Epson ELPLP75 projector lamp until it clicks into place. If it doesn’t easily fit into the projector make sure it’s facing the right way. Never force the lamp into the projector.

Tighten the two screws on the new Epson ELPLP75 projector lamp. Replace the projector lamp cover and tighten the screw on the cover. You must reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Epson PowerLite 11955 lamp timer

After replacing the Epson ELPLP75 projector lamp you’ll need to reset the lamp timer in order for the Epson PowerLite 1955 to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the lamp timer when a new projector lamp has been installed

Replacing the 4719-001997 DLP Chip

Step 1

Step 1: Put on the plastic gloves. Loosen all the screws found on the back panel. Put the screws to one side and remove the back panel.

Step 2: Loosen the two screws holding the lamp bracket in place.

Step 3

Step 3: Remove the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Disconnect all the connectors. Important: don’t yank any cables.

Step 4

Step 4: Carefully remove light engine from the cabinet.

Step 5

Step 5: Remove the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 6

Step 6: Carefully disconnect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 7

Step 7: Disconnect the clip connecting the cooling unit.

Step 8

Step 8: Remove the cooling unit and terminal board.

Step 9

Step 9: Remove the terminal board.

Step 10

Step 10: Loosen the 7 screws holding the terminal cover in place. (Good time to dust this section).

Step 11: Carefully pop the terminal out of its holder.

Step 12

Step 12: Unlock the old DLP Chip from the terminal. You may need to use a flat edged screwdriver to pop it out.

Step 13

Step 13: Place the new DLP chip into place. Handle the DMD DLP CHIP only by the edges because it is very sensitive to static electricity.

Step 14

Step 14: Put the terminal back into its holder.

Step 15

Step 15: Tighten the 7 screws holding the terminal in place.

Step 16

Step 16: Replace the terminal board’s cover.

Step 17

Step 17: Reconnect the clip holding the cooling unit.

Step 18

Step 18: Re-connect the cables between the terminal board and lamp.

Step 19

Step 19: Tighten the 2 screws holding the color wheel protective cover in it place. Avoid touching any of the optical components as this can affect the quality of your picture.

Step 20

Step 20: Carefully replace the light engine back into the cabinet.

Step 21

Step 21: Replace and tighten the 4 screws holding the lamp engine in place. Re-connect all the connectors.

Step 22

Step 22: Put the light engine back into the RPTV. Tighten both screws that keep the back bracket in place.

Step 23

Step 23: Put the back panel back onto the TV. Put the screws back into place and tighten. Enjoy the crisp, clear picture on your Samsung HL67A750A1FXZA RPTV.
