  3. Unscrew the two projector lamp screws. Grasp the lamp module with one hand and the projector body with the other hand. Carefully slide the lamp module out.   4. Insert the new 3M 78-6969-8919-9 EP1635 projector lamp. Tighten the two screws on the new projector lamp.Being careful not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks when the lamp heats up. Re-install the 3M MP8745 projector lamp cover.

Reset the lamp timer

After changing the 3M 78-6969-8919-9 EP1635 projector lamp you need to reset the lamp timer so the 3M MP8745 projector will turn back on. To reset:

  1. To display the total lamp hours, press and hold for 3 seconds, the RESET button on the projector or Timer button on the remote control.
  1. To reset the lamp timer, press the RESET button on the projector or MENU button on the remote while the total lamp hours are displayed. Use the arrow button on the projector or remote to select ZERO or CANCEL.

Extend the 3M MP8745 projector lamp life

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

Installing the Epson ELPLP60 lamp

When it’s time to replace the projector lamp you’ll notice a red blinking light on the lamp indicator that turns to orange when the lamp is about to stop working. Replace the projector lamp immediately. Waiting too long will cause your projector to shut down.

Before installation:

  • Turn off the Epson PowerLite 93 projector and unplug the AC cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool for one hour – it should be cool to the touch. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures and you run the risk of being burned if the projector has not cooled down.

Replacing projector lamp

  • Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ MP720+ projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. The projector should be cool to the touch.

  • Replace the lamp cover on the BenQ MP720+ projector.

Resetting the lamp timer

Do not reset the BenQ MP720+ projector lamp timer if the lamp has not been replaced as this could cause damage. Don’t start the if the lamp cover has not been replaced.

  • Press and hold the Exit 5 button on the projector for 5 seconds to display the total used lamp time.
  • Press Auto on the projector or on the remote control to reset the lamp hour to “0”.

Step-by-step instructions

Tighten the screws on the projector lamp. d. Close the lid. Tighten the cover screws. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Your Optoma TX542 comes equipped with an automatic projector lamp timer that tracks the number of hours left for the BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) lamp.   • Replace the lamp assembly with a new Christie 003-000884-01. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as oil from your fingers can leave black marks on the lamp. If you are replacing only one lamp, be sure not to touch the remaining lamp
  • Tighten the three screws on the replacement lamp.
  • Put back the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.
  • Connect the AC power cord to the Christie DS+655 and turn on the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Re-attach the NEC NP500 lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP07LP projector lamp and NEC NP500 projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Lamp replacement warning signs

Replace the lamp immediately when you see this warning signs. Using the lamp beyond its recommended 3000 hours can result in the lamp exploding inside the projector. This results in a messy and time consuming clean up. Watch for these other signs that the projector lamp may be reaching it’s end of life:

  • the Lamp LED flashing amber
  • picture has poor colour quality
  • image vibrancy and definition has deteriorated

Step 3: Installing a new Optoma BL-FP180E lamp

The Optoma EX54oi uses the Optoma BL-FP180E replacement projector lamp. Before installing follow these crucial safety steps:

  • Switch off the power to the projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. The Optoma EX540i runs at a high temperature and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

Step-by-step instructions

1: Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The Optoma EX540i projector should be cool to the touch.

2: Remove the lamp cover and place to one side. Don’t lose the screws to the cover as the projector will not turn back on until the projector lamp cover has been properly installed.

3: Remove both screws holding the Optoma BL-FP180E in place.Lift the wire handle on the lamp and gently remove it from the projector. Be careful not to hit the lamp or you can cause it to break.

Install the new lamp:

a. Take the new Optoma BL-FP180E projector lamp out of its packaging and lift the handle on the lamp.

b. Gently place it into the projector making sure not to touch the actual bulb. Oil from fingerprint marks can burn black spots onto the lamp when it heats up.

c. Tighten the screws on the projector lamp.

d. Close the lid. Tighten the cover screws. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Optoma EX540i projector lamp timer

Your Optoma EX540i comes equipped with an automatic projector lamp timer that tracks the number of hours left for the Optoma BL-FP180E lamp. Each time you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer. Failure to do so may cause the projector to use the lamp over the recommended period of time resulting in the lamp exploding.

To reset the lamp timer:

  • Press MENU
  • Select OPTIONS
  • Select Lamp Settings
  • Select Lamp Reset
  • Select Yes

Under Brightness Mode:

  • Choose STD to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption making the lamp last longer.
  • Choose BRIGHT to make the lamp brighter but decrease lamp life.

Installing the replacement projector lamp

Follow these important safety steps BEFORE installing the replacement

  • Turn off the InFocus IN24EP projector and unplug the power cord.
  • To avoid getting burned, let the InFocus IN24EP projector fully cooled before changing the lamp.
  • Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.
  • Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

  • Turn the projector upside down onto a soft surface.
