Before replacing the 3M MP8745 projector lamp, follow these safety steps:

Wait until the projector is cool to the touch before removing the lamp. These projector work at a high temperatures and you can get badly burned.

NOTE: The 3M 78-6969-8778-9 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp.

The 3M MP8745 projector lamp access door is located on the bottom of the projector. Turn over the projector onto a soft surface to loosen the screw holding the cover in place.
Remove the cover. Place it to one side.
Unscrew the two projector lamp screws. Grasp the lamp module with one hand and the projector body with the other hand. Carefully slide the lamp module out. Take care not to bang the actual 3M 78-6969-8919-9 EP1635 projector lamp or it may break. Learn how to do a proper clean up if the lamp breaks or explodes.
Insert the new 3M 78-6969-8919-9 EP1635 projector lamp. Tighten the two screws on the new projector lamp.Being careful not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks when the lamp heats up. Re-install the 3M MP8745 projector lamp cover.

Reset the lamp timer

After changing the 3M 78-6969-8919-9 EP1635 projector lamp you need to reset the lamp timer so the 3M MP8745 projector will turn back on. To reset:

To display the total lamp hours, press and hold for 3 seconds, the RESET button on the projector or Timer button on the remote control.

To reset the lamp timer, press the RESET button on the projector or MENU button on the remote while the total lamp hours are displayed. Use the arrow button on the projector or remote to select ZERO or CANCEL.

Extend the 3M MP8745 projector lamp life

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the 3M MP8745 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

The Internet has been flooded with generic lamps stating they are “compatible” with Epson projectors. However most counterfeit lamps have a shorter life than original lamps. Many counterfeits claim to be compatible “generic” lamps but are created with toxic materials and carcinogenic parts including Krypton-85. A projector lamp with a low price may seem like a bargain but in the long run cost more since they are prone to explosions and usually damage the sensitive electronics in your projectors. Without the proper guards, your eyesight is also at risk. Buy an OEM authentic Epson PowerLite 93 projector lamp and keep your projector working properly. Installing the Epson ELPLP60 lamp

When it’s time to replace the projector lamp you’ll notice a red blinking light on the lamp indicator that turns to orange when the lamp is about to stop working. Replace the projector lamp immediately. Waiting too long will cause your projector to shut down.

Before installation:

Turn off the Epson PowerLite 93 projector and unplug the AC cord.
Allow the projector to cool for one hour – it should be cool to the touch. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures and you run the risk of being burned if the projector has not cooled down.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

The Epson PowerLite 93 lamp cover is on the side. Using a screwdriver to gently release the cover switch. Slide the lamp cover off.

Remove the two screws on either side of Epson ELPLP60 lamp. Place the screws to either side.

Pull the lamp out using the top handle. Be sure to pull it out straight. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter. NOTE: The Epson ELPLP60 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Take the new Epson ELPLP60 projector lamp by the handle and gently put it into place making sure the lamp is facing in the right direction.

Replace the projector lamps screws and re-connect the lamp cover. Re-attach the power cord. Turn the projector on and let it warm up. Reset the Lamp Operating time.

Reset the Epson PowerLite 93 Projector Lamp Timer

Reset the Epson PowerLite 93 Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP60 lamp has been replaced.

Turn the Epson PowerLite 93 projector on.
Press MENU to display the RESET menu.
Press the down arrow to move down the menu to the RESET ALL option.
A prompt message appear. Select YES and press ENTER.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero.
Press MENU or ESC to exit the menu
The lamp timer will be a zero.

Save yourself unnecessary headaches — buy an authentic BenQ MP720+ projector lamp from a recognized dealer. There are hundreds of choices out there and it can be confusing finding the correct projector lamp. Price is the biggest give away. If you are buying a lamp with a price that is too good to be true, chances are it’s a counterfeit. You’re buying a whole lot of problems:

Replacement warning signs

When it’s time to replace the BenQ MP720+ projector lamp you’ll see a series warnings appear on screen. First message: Total (equivalent) lamp hour has reached 3000 hours. Install a new lamp for optimal performance.

Second message: Total (equivalent) lamp hour has reached 3950 hour. A new lamp should be fitted to avoid the inconvenience when the projector runs out of lamp time.

Third message: Total (equivalent) lamp hour has reached 4000 hours. This message will flash in the center of the screen for about 30 seconds together with the Lamp indicator lighting up red for 40 seconds

Final message: If this warning message displays, the projector will shut down in 40 seconds. The lamp MUST be replaced before the projector will operate normally.

Replacing projector lamp

Your BenQ MP720P projector uses the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp. Before installation follow these important safety instructions:

Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ MP720+ projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. The projector should be cool to the touch.

The projector lamp cover is found on the bottom side of the BenQ MP720+ projector. Place in on something soft to avoid scratching the projector before turning it over. Lift the projector up slightly to access the screw to the projector lamp cover.
Loosen the screw holding the lamp cover in place.

Step A:

Lift up the projector lamp cover.
Remove the lamp cords from the slots. Don’t lose the screw!
Disconnect the lamp connector by pushing it against the projector while pulling it up.

Step B:

Loosen the screw that secures the lamp.

Lift the handle so that it stands up. Use the handle to slowly pull the lamp out of the projector. Pulling out too quickly may cause the bulb to break. If this happens go to: What to do when your projector lamp explodes.

NOTE: The BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Insert the new BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp. Align the two holes on the lamp with the locators on the projector.

Step C:

Tighten the screw that secures the lamp. Loose screw may cause a bad connection,
which could result in malfunction. Do not over tighten the screw.
Connect the lamp connector to the projector.
Place the lamp cords back to the slots.

Replace the lamp cover on the BenQ MP720+ projector.

Reset the lamp timer. (See below for instructions.)

Resetting the lamp timer

Do not reset the BenQ MP720+ projector lamp timer if the lamp has not been replaced as this could cause damage. Don’t start the if the lamp cover has not been replaced.

Press and hold the Exit 5 button on the projector for 5 seconds to display the total used lamp time.
Press Auto on the projector or on the remote control to reset the lamp hour to “0”.
Wait about 5 seconds to let the OSD disappear.

Extend the projector lamp life:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Setting Lamp Power to Whisper mode. Using Whisper mode reduces system noise and power consumption. It also extends the projector lamp life. To set Whisper mode, go into the Advanced Setup > Lamp > Lamp Power menu.

Installing a new Optoma BL-FP180E lamp

Pre-installation safety Preparation: Follow these important safety tips before installing a new BL-FP180E into your Optoma TX542 projector.

Switch off the power to the projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. The Optoma EX540 runs at a high temperature and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.
Disconnect the power cord.

Step-by-step instructions

Remove the old lamp Figure 1: Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The Optoma EX542 projector should be cool to the touch.

Figure 2: Remove the lamp cover and place to one side. Don’t lose the screws to the cover as the projector will not turn back on until the projector lamp cover has been properly installed.

Figure 3: Remove both screws holding the BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) in place.Lift the wire handle on the lamp and gently remove it from the projector. Be careful not to hit the lamp or you can cause it to break.

NOTE: The BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp.

Install the new lamp: Take the new Optoma BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) projector lamp out of its packaging and lift the handle on the lamp. Gently place it into the projector making sure not to touch the actual bulb. Oil from fingerprint marks can burn black spots onto the lamp when it heats up. Tighten the screws on the projector lamp. d. Close the lid. Tighten the cover screws. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Optoma TX542 projector lamp timer

Your Optoma TX542 comes equipped with an automatic projector lamp timer that tracks the number of hours left for the BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) lamp. Each time you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer. Failure to do so may cause the projector to use the lamp over the recommended period of time resulting in the lamp exploding.

To reset the lamp timer:

Press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select Lamp Settings
Select Lamp Reset
Select Yes

TIP FOR LONGER LAMP LIFE: Under Brightness Mode:

Choose STD to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption making the lamp last longer.
Choose BRIGHT to make the lamp brighter but decrease lamp life.

Your Christie DS+655 projector uses two Christie 003-000884-01 projector lamp. When the Christie DS+655 projector lamp has reached end of life, the LAMP indicator on the projector will light red. Replace the projector lamp immediately when you see this. Other warning signs may be a dim picture, colour that appears washed and a image that is fading.

The importance of an authentic projector lamp

The best way to keep your Christie DS+655 projector working properly is to always install an authentic replacement projector lamp. You may be tempted to buy a generic lamp sold at discount prices. These projector lamps actually cost more since the have a much shorter life and are prone to explosions. There are health and safety concerns as well, since these lamps have been created with carcinogenic, toxic substitutes. Replacing the projector lamp

Loosen the two screws on the Christie DS+655 lamp cover. Open the cover
Loosen the three screws on Lamp 1 andpull out the used Christie 003-000884-01 projector lamp assembly by using the built in handle.
NOTE: The used Christie 003-000884-01 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.
Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do if the lamp breaks.
Replace the lamp assembly with a new Christie 003-000884-01. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as oil from your fingers can leave black marks on the lamp. If you are replacing only one lamp, be sure not to touch the remaining lamp
Tighten the three screws on the replacement lamp.
Put back the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.
Connect the AC power cord to the Christie DS+655 and turn on the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Tips for longer projector lamp life:

Avoid frequent on and offs to avoid power surges.
Don’t let the projector overheat as this puts stress on the lamp. Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
Let the projector stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
Keep the air filters clean and free of dust so it can do its job and keep the projector lamp for overheating.
Eco mode reduces lamp brightness while extending the lamp life.

Changing the NEC NP500 projector lamp is simple when you follow this how-to guide.

Step 1: Are you ready for a lamp?

Know when it’s time to install a new NEC NP500 projector lamp by consulting the hours left on the Usage Time menu.

Go to INFO menu
Scroll down to LAMP LIFE REMAINING and LAMP HOURS USED.
The progress indicator shows the percentage of remaining bulb life:
When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

End of life warnings

When the NEC NP500 is reaching end of life you’ll see the following warning on screen message: LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS USABLE LIFE. PLEASE REPLACE THE LAMP AND FILTER. The LAMP indicator will also blink red. If on screen colours looks off or of the picture is faint or has deteriorated replace the NEC NP500 projector lamp immediately.

Changing the NEC NP07LP projector lamp

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP07LP projector lamp

turn off the NEC NP500 projector.
unplug the projector from its power source.
unplug the power cable.
wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Loosen the NEC NP500 projector lamp cover screw.

Push and slide the NEC NP500 projector cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP07LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.) Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP07LP projector lamp should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Install a new lamp housing into the NEC NP500 projector, gently pressing the projector lamp housing into the socket. Take care not to touch the actual bulb as your finger prints can leave oil marks that burn black marks onto the bulb.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lamp.

Re-attach the NEC NP500 lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP07LP projector lamp and NEC NP500 projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Clear usage hours and reset hours

Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
Turn on the projector.
From the MENU select RESET.
Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
A confirmation message appears.
Select YES.

Extending the life of the NEC NP500 projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP07LP projector lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

Auto Mode: 4000 hours
Normal: 5000 hours
Eco ModeL 8000 hours

When the Toshiba TDP-D1E projector lamp is running out of time you’ll notice the picture has poor color quality or may appear dimmer than usual. When the projector lamps reaches the end of life at 1,500 hours, the bulb icon will appear and a message “Replace your lamp” appears.

Installing the projector lamp

Follow these important safety tips before changing the projector lamp:

Switch off the power to the projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
After waiting 30 seconds, disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. The Toshiba TDP-D1E projector runs using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow it to cool down.

Loosen the two screws holding the lamp cover in place. and remove the lamp cover.

Get the new Toshiba TDP-LD1 75016689 replacement lamp ready. Align the orientation, press down until the bottom is reached, and lock in place using the three lamp locking screws.

Replace the lamp cover. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the replacement projector lamp timer

Each time you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer. Failure to do so may cause the projector to use the lamp over the recommended period of 2000 hours time resulting in the projector lamp exploding.

Extend the life of the Toshiba projector lamp:

Press the SETTING MENU button to display the menu screen.
Scroll down the menu options to the Lamp Time
Press the ENTER button to select zero.
Click ENTER to exit the MENU.

Lamp replacement warning signs

When the Optoma EX540i projector lamp life is reaching end of life, you’ll see a warning sign appear on screen.

Replace the lamp immediately when you see this warning signs. Using the lamp beyond its recommended 3000 hours can result in the lamp exploding inside the projector. This results in a messy and time consuming clean up. Watch for these other signs that the projector lamp may be reaching it’s end of life:

the Lamp LED flashing amber
picture has poor colour quality
image vibrancy and definition has deteriorated

Step 3: Installing a new Optoma BL-FP180E lamp

The Optoma EX54oi uses the Optoma BL-FP180E replacement projector lamp. Before installing follow these crucial safety steps:

Switch off the power to the projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. The Optoma EX540i runs at a high temperature and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

Step-by-step instructions

Remove the old lamp

1: Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The Optoma EX540i projector should be cool to the touch.

2: Remove the lamp cover and place to one side. Don’t lose the screws to the cover as the projector will not turn back on until the projector lamp cover has been properly installed.

3: Remove both screws holding the Optoma BL-FP180E in place.Lift the wire handle on the lamp and gently remove it from the projector. Be careful not to hit the lamp or you can cause it to break.

NOTE: The BL-FP180E contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp.

Install the new lamp:

a. Take the new Optoma BL-FP180E projector lamp out of its packaging and lift the handle on the lamp.

b. Gently place it into the projector making sure not to touch the actual bulb. Oil from fingerprint marks can burn black spots onto the lamp when it heats up.

c. Tighten the screws on the projector lamp.

d. Close the lid. Tighten the cover screws. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Optoma EX540i projector lamp timer

Your Optoma EX540i comes equipped with an automatic projector lamp timer that tracks the number of hours left for the Optoma BL-FP180E lamp. Each time you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer. Failure to do so may cause the projector to use the lamp over the recommended period of time resulting in the lamp exploding.

To reset the lamp timer:

Press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select Lamp Settings
Select Lamp Reset
Select Yes

Tips for longer lamp life:

Under Brightness Mode:

Choose STD to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption making the lamp last longer.
Choose BRIGHT to make the lamp brighter but decrease lamp life.

Installing the replacement projector lamp

Follow these important safety steps BEFORE installing the replacement

Turn off the InFocus IN24EP projector and unplug the power cord.
To avoid getting burned, let the InFocus IN24EP projector fully cooled before changing the lamp.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.
Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

Turn the projector upside down onto a soft surface.
Gently slide projector lamp cover out of its slot.

Using the screw driver to loosen the screw holding the InFocus SP-LAMP-024 projector lamp in place.
Detach the lamp connector attaching the InFocus SP-LAMP-024 to the InFocus IN24EP projector by pressing the locking tab on the connector and gently pulling.
Loosen the screw on the projector lamp to loosen the lamp.

Grab the InFocus SP-LAMP-024 lamp handle and carefully lift the lamp cage up.Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb break.
Install the new InFocus SP-LAMP-024 lamp housing and tighten the screw.
Connect the connection wire from the lamp to the projector
Slide the lamp door back in place, making sure it is aligned so it clicks into place.
You are ready to reset the lamp hours.

NOTE: The InFocus SP-LAMP-024 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Reset the projector lamp timer

After replacing the InFocus SP-LAMP-024 projector lamp be sure to reset the lamp hours. Failure to do so will mean your InFocus IN24EP projector will NOT TURN ON.

Open the MAIN menu. Press SELECT
Scroll down to the SERVICE menu.
Scroll down to RESET LAMP HOURS.
Lamp hours will be reset to zero.

Tips for longer lamp life

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the InFocus IN24EP projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Step 1: Invest in an OEM replacement lamp

Your Epson EB- 826WH needs an authentic lamp in order to work at it’s optimum levels. While buying counterfeit may seem like a bargain, their poor performance and poor quality actually make them more costly in the long run. Not only can they damage the sensitive electronics in your projector. counterfeits have a shorter lamp life and are prone to explosions. Step 2: Watching for end of life

When the image gets dark or starts to deteriorate or when the projector lamp warning light starts flashing, followed by a Replace the lamp message on screen, it’s time to install a Epson ELPLP50 replacement projector lamp

Step 3: Installing the projector lamp replacement

After turning off the power button on the Epson EB-826WH projector off wait for the light to stop flashing.
Unplug the power cord.
Allow the Epson EB-826WH projector to cool down before replacing the projector lamp. It should be cool to the touch so you don’t run the risk of burning yourself.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.
The lamp cover is found on top of the Epson EB-826WH projector. Loosen the lamp cover screw — you can’t remove it only loosen it.
Slide the Epson EB-826WH projector lamp cover off.
Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp in place.

Grab the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp by the side indents. Gently pull the lamp out. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should this happen. Caution: Don’t touch the actual bulb with your fingers since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

NOTE: The Epson EL PLP50 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Gently insert the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp making sure it’s facing the right way.

Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp. Be sure not to tighten too much or the lamp may not work.

Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw on the EB-824H projector lamp cover.

Reset the Epson EB-824H projector lamp timer.

Reset the Epson EB-826WH projector Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp has been replaced.

Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
Scroll down to the RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt appears asking if you want to RESET LAMP HOURS?
Select YES and press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Prolong the life of the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp:

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp with the following tips:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the Epson EB-826WH projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
