  • Press the POINT DOWN button and a red-arrow icon will appear.
  • Move the arrow to Lamp age, and then press the SELECT button. The message “Lamp replace monitor Reset?” is displayed.
  • Select [Yes] to reset the Timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After changing the 3M 78-6969-8919-9 EP1635 projector lamp you need to reset the lamp timer so the 3M MP8670 projector will turn back on. To reset:

  1. To display the total lamp hours, press and hold for 3 seconds, the RESET button on the projector or Timer button on the remote control.
  1. To reset the lamp timer, press the RESET button on the projector or MENU button on the remote while the total lamp hours are displayed. Use the arrow button on the projector or remote to select ZERO or CANCEL.

Before installation:

  • Turn power button off wait for light to stop flashing.
  • Turn off power switch on Epson EB-825W projector.
  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Before changing the projector lamp, allow the Epson EB-825W projector to cool down. It should be cool to the touch before you open it to change the projector lamp. Otherwise you run the risk of burning yourself.
  • Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Caution: Don’t touch the actual bulb with your fingers since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

  • Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ MP620P projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. The projector should be cool to the touch.

  • The projector lamp cover is found on the bottom side of the BenQ MP620P projector. Place in on something soft to avoid scratching the projector before turning it over. Lift the projector up slightly to access the screw to the projector lamp cover.
  • Loosen the screw holding the lamp cover in place.

  • Lift up the projector lamp cover.
  • Remove the lamp cords from the slots. Don’t lose the screw!
  • Disconnect the lamp connector by pushing it against the projector while pulling it up.

Step B:

  • Loosen the screw that secures the lamp.

BenQ_MP620_projector_install_CS.5JJ1KNOTE: The BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

Insert the new BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp. Align the two holes on the lamp with the locators on the projector.

Step C:

  • BenQ_MP620P_projector_CS.5JJ1K_replacement_projector_lamp
  • Tighten the screw that secures the lamp. Loose screw may cause a bad connection,
    which could result in malfunction. Do not over tighten the screw.
  • Connect the lamp connector to the projector.BenQ_MP620P_projector_CS.5JJ1K_replace_projector_lamp_cover
  • Place the lamp cords back to the slots.
  • Replace the lamp cover on the BenQ MP620C projector.
  • Reset the lamp timer. (See below for instructions.)

Resetting the lamp timer

Do not reset the BenQ MP620C projector lamp timer if the lamp has not been replaced as this could cause damage. Don’t start the if the lamp cover has not been replaced.

  • Press and hold the Exit 5 button on the projector for 5 seconds to display the total used lamp time.
  • Press Auto on the projector or on the remote control to reset the lamp hour to “0”.
  • Wait about 5 seconds to let the OSD disappear.

Extend the life of the BenQ MP620P projector lamp:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Setting Lamp Power to Whisper mode. Using Whisper mode reduces system noise and power consumption. It also extends the projector lamp life. To set Whisper mode, go into the Advanced Setup > Lamp > Lamp Power menu.

Finding lamp hours

The NEC NP400 projector uses the NEC NP07LP projector lamp. You can track the hours left for the project lamp with the Usage Time menu to determine when it’s time to replace the NEC NP400 projector lamp.

  • Go to INFO menu
  • Scroll down to LAMP LIFE REMAINING and LAMP HOURS USED.
  • The progress indicator shows the percentage of remaining bulb life:
  • When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
  • When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

End of life warnings

When the NEC NP400 is reaching end of life you’ll see the following warning on screen message: LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS USABLE LIFE. PLEASE REPLACE THE LAMP AND FILTER. The LAMP indicator will also blink red. If on screen colours looks off or of the picture is faint or has deteriorated replace the NEC NP400 projector lamp immediately.

Changing the NEC NP07LP projector lamp

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP07LP projector lamp

  • turn off the NEC NP400 projector.
  • unplug the projector from its power source.
  • unplug the power cable.
  • wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Push and slide the NEC NP400 projector cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP07LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.) Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP07LP projector lamp should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

NEC_NP400_projector_NP07LP_installing_replacement_projector_lampInstall a new lamp housing into the NEC NP400 projector, gently pressing the projector lamp housing into the socket. Take care not to touch the actual bulb as your finger prints can leave oil marks that burn black marks onto the bulb.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lamp.

Re-attach the NEC NP400 lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

 

 

Reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP07LP projector lamp and NEC NP400 projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

  • Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the projector.
  • From the MENU select RESET.
  • Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
  • A confirmation message appears.

Extending the life of the NEC NP400 projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP07LP projector lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

  • Auto Mode: 4000 hours
  • Normal: 5000 hours
  • Eco ModeL 8000 hours

Watch for these signs when the Hitachi CP-X305 lamp is reaching end of life:

  • Both the Hitachi CP-X305 Power and Lamp Indicators are flashing red while the Temp Indicator is turned off.

Install the Hitachi DT00841 projector lamp

Safety steps before installing the Hitachi DT00841:

  • Turn off the Hitachi CP-X305 projector.
  • Unplug the power cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. This projector works using high heat and there is danger you can be burned.
  • NOTE: If the projector is mounted on the ceiling, don’t stand underneath the projector while opening the cover.

  • Prepare the new Hitachi CP-X305 projector lamp. If the projector is mounted on a ceiling, or if the lamp has broken, contact your dealer for assistance.
  • Loosen the screw (marked by arrow) of the lamp cover and then slide the lamp cover to the side to remove it.
  • Loosen the 2 screws (marked by arrow) of the Hitachi DT00841 projector lamp, and slowly pick up the lamp by the handles. Be careful not the bang the lamp. The Hitachi DT00841 projector lamp contains mercury and must be recycled properly. Do not throw it in regular garbage.
  • Insert the new lamp, taking care not to touch the actual bulb. Oil in your fingers will cause a dark spot on the lamp when it heats up.
  • Tighten the two screws of the Hitachi DT00841 projector lamp that were loosened to remove the old projector lamp.
  • Slide the lamp cover back in place and firmly fasten the screw of the lamp cover.
  • Turn on the projector and set the lamp timer:

  • Scroll down to the GO TO ADVANCED MENU option. Press ENTER
  • Scroll down to the OPTION menu in the left column and press ENTER.
  • Scroll down to LAMP TIME. Press ENTER To make a dialogue field appear
  • Scroll up to the RESET option on the dialogue box.
  • The lamp setting will be set to zero.

Replacing the air filters

Get more hours from your Hitachi DT00841 by keeping your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

  • Pull the filter frame’s knob up while holding the filter cover. The filter frame will come off and the air filter will appear.
  • Take out the old air filter and insert the new air filter.
  • Put the filter frame back.
  • Put the filter unit back into the projector
  • Turn the projector on and reset the filter time using the FILTER TIME item in the EASY MENU.
