Watch for end of life signs

Track the number of hours left in the Epson PowerLite 732 projector by going to the Info menu found on the Main menu. The Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp will last up to 2000 hours if the Brightness setting is on normal. Change the setting to low and get up to 3000 hours.

Install the new Epson ELPLP32

Turn power button off and wait for the power light to stop flashing.
Unplug the power cord from the Epson Powerlite 732 projector.

Turn the Epson PowerLite 732 over and placing on a soft, scratch free surface.
Press on the tabs located on top of the Epson PowerLite 732 cover. Lift up the lamp cover.

Using the screw driver provided with the Epson PowerLite 732 projector, loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp in place.

Pressing on the indents on the sides of the Epson ELPLP32, pull the projector lamp gently up out of the Epson PowerLite 732 projector. Take care not to bang the actual lamp or it may break. Learn how to do a proper clean up if the lamp breaks or explodes.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps and be good to the environment.

Gently place the new Epson ELPLP32 lamp into the Epson PowerLite 732 making sure not to touch the actual bulb. The oil on6your fingers will leave a burn mark on the lamp once it heats up and this can cause black out spots on the screen.

Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP32 lamp.
Slide the air filter out and remove it immediately. Slide in the new filter that came with the Epson ELPLP32 lamp. Replace the lamp cover.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer in the Epson PowerLite 732

Your Epson PowerLite 732 has a built-in timer to track the life of the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp. So, it’s very important that you reset the lamp timer every time you replace the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp.

Here’s how:

Press the MENU button on either the remote control on the projector’s control panel.
Scroll down to the RESET option.
Press Enter. The RESET ALL screen will appear.
Scroll down to LAMP-HOURS RESET.
Press ENTER to open up the confirmation screen

Highlight YES.
Press ENTER.
Press ESC or MENU to exit this option.

Congratulations! You’ve just installed at new Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp in your Epson PowerLite 740c.

Tips for a longer lasting Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

Step 1: Buying the right projector lamp

Your Optoma EX540 uses the BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) projector lamp.

Be sure to buy an authentic projector lamp in order to keep your projector working properly and avoid safety and health issues from counterfeit lamps. Step 2: Know when to replace

Step 3: Installing a new Optoma BL-FP180E lamp

Pre-installation safety Preparation:

Follow these important safety tips before installing a new BL-FP180E into your Optoma EX540 projector.

Switch off the power to the projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. The Optoma EX540 runs at a high temperature and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.
Disconnect the power cord.

Step-by-step instructions

Remove the old lamp

1: Use a screwdriver to loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The Optoma EX540 projector should be cool to the touch.

2: Remove the lamp cover and place to one side. Don’t lose the screws to the cover as the projector will not turn back on until the projector lamp cover has been properly installed.

3: Remove both screws holding the BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) in place.Lift the wire handle on the lamp and gently remove it from the projector. Be careful not to hit the lamp or you can cause it to break.

NOTE: The BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp.

Install the new lamp:

a. Take the new Optoma BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) projector lamp out of its packaging and lift the handle on the lamp.

b. Gently place it into the projector making sure not to touch the actual bulb. Oil from fingerprint marks can burn black spots onto the lamp when it heats up.

c. Tighten the screws on the projector lamp.

d. Close the lid. Tighten the cover screws. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Step 4: Reset the Optoma EX540 projector lamp timer

Your Optoma EX540 comes equipped with an automatic projector lamp timer that tracks the number of hours left for the BL-FP180E (SP.8EF01GC01) lamp. Each time you change the lamp you need to reset the lamp timer. Failure to do so may cause the projector to use the lamp over the recommended period of time resulting in the lamp exploding.

To reset the lamp timer:

Press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select Lamp Settings
Select Lamp Reset
Select Yes

TIP FOR LONGER LAMP LIFE:

Under Brightness Mode:

Choose STD to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption making the lamp last longer.
Choose BRIGHT to make the lamp brighter but decrease lamp life.

3 steps to a new Dell 1510X projector lamp

No need to call a service technician. This guide shows you how to replace the Dell 1510X projector lamp.

Step 1: Watch for end of life

When the Lamp Light is blinking a solid amber, it means the Dell 1510X projector lamp is approaching end of life. You will also see the on-screen message “Lamp is approaching the end of its useful life in full power operation. Replacement suggested!”

Don’t wait too long or you may hear making a loud popping noise before the projector lamps burns. “Lamp Defective” will then show on screen and remain until a new projector lamp has been installed. The projector will eventually turn off.

Step 2: Be ready with an authentic lamp

Step 3: Installing the new projector lamp

Before replacing the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp be sure to turn the projector off and disconnect from the AC plug. Let the projector cool down for at least 30 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. Don’t attempt to change the lamp when the projector is still hot as there is a good chance you can get severely burned.

Place the Dell 1510X on a soft surface and turn in upside down to access the projector lamp cover. Loose the two screws that hold the projector lamp cover in place.
Loosen the two screws that secure the projector lamp.
Pull the projector lamp up by its metal handle. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. NOTE: Don’t throw the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp into regular garbage! Since it contains mercury, this lamp must be properly recycled.
Install the new Dell 311-8943 projector lamp making sure it is properly aligned into the projector.
Tighten the two screws that secure the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp.
Replace the projector lamp cover and tighten the two screws.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Dell 1510X projector lamp counter

The Dell 1510X projector tracks the life of the Dell 311-8943 (725-10120) projector lamp and will trigger the warning signals when it’s time to replace. Each time you replace the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp you must reset the lamp timer to zero. Failure to do so can result in you using the projector past the optimum lamp life and causing the projector lamp to explode.

To access the Main Menu press the left or right buttons on your projector’s control panel or remote control.
Scroll over the the LAMP Menu. Press ENTER to access.
Scroll down to the Lamp Reset icon. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to choose YES and press ENTER to reset the projector lamp timer.

Tips for extending Dell 1510X projector lamp life:

From the LAMP Menu, choose ECO MODE: Select On to use the projector at the lower power level of 165 Watts, which makes the Dell 1510X projector operate quieter and with lower light that gives more projector lamp life. Select off to operate at the 200 Watts power level.
Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
Make sure there is enough airflow around the Dell 1510X projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

End of life warning signs

When it’s time for a replacement lamp on your 3M MP8725 projector the you’ll see the change the lamp message on screen. The lamp indicator on the 3M MP8725 projector also lights red.

When the lamp life on the 3M MP8725 projector reaches more than 1,700 hours, you’ll see the on screen message: “CHANGE THE LAMP, AFTER REPLACING LAMP RESET THE LAMP TIMER.” When the hours are more than 1,979 the following message will appear “POWER WILL TURN OFF AFTER 20 more hours.” A count down to zero will begin and when the number of hours reaches ZERO the projector will shut down. Replace the projector lam immediately.

Replacing the projector lamp

Before replacing the 3M 78-6969-8778-9 projector lamp, follow these safety steps

Wait until the projector is cool to the touch before removing the lamp. These projector work at a high temperatures and you can get badly burned.
Be sure to unplug the projector before replacing the lamp.

The lamp access door is located on the bottom of the machine. Turn over the projector onto a soft surface. Unscrew the screw holding the screw in place. Remove the cover. Place it to one side.
Unscrew the two projector lamp screw.
Grasp the lamp module with one hand and the projector body with the other hand. Carefully slide the lamp module out. Being careful not to bang the lamp so it doesn’t break. Take care not to bang the actual lamp or it may break. Learn how to do a proper clean up if the lamp breaks or explodes.
Insert the new 3M 78-6969-8778-9 projector lamp. Tighten the two screws on the new projector lamp. Take care not to touch the bare lamp as oil from your finger can burn black spots onto the lamp. These black spots will also appear on screen. Reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After changing the 3M 78-6969-8778-9 projector lamp you need to reset the lamp timer so the 3M MP8725 projector will turn back on. To reset:

Press the Reset button on the projector or Menu On button on the remote
When the total lamp hours are displayed, use the arrow button on the projector or the disc pad to select 0 (or CANCEL).

Extend the projector lamp life

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the 3M MP8725 projector projector projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.

Replacing the Acer X1130K projector lamp

The Acer X1130K projector uses the Acer EC.J9000.001 projector lamp. Before installation follow these important safety steps:

Turn off the Acer X1130K projector and unplug the AC cord.
These projectors operate under high temperatures and there is a risk of burning if the projector has not cooled enough. Allow the Acer X1130K to cool for one hour. It should be cool to the touch.

1. Remove the two screws from the cover. Lift the cover off the projector and place it to one side.

2. Remove the two screws holding the Acer X1130K projector lamp in place.

3. Lift the wire handle on the Acer EC.J9000.001 bulb and gently pull the lamp up to remove it.

Don’t throw the old Acer EC.J9000.001 projector lamp into regular garbage as it contains mercury — send it to a local recycling program.

4. Take the new Acer EC.J9000.001 projector lamp projector lamp using the wire handle. Avoid touching the bare bulb; the oil on your finger can leave a black mark on the lamp affecting the projected image. Tighten the screws on the new Acer EC.J9000.001 projector lamp.

Put the lid back onto the projector. Tighten the screw holding the lid in place. Plug the AC cables back into the projector. Turn the project on so you can reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

It’s important to always reset the lamp timer after replacing the projector lamp in your Acer X1130K projector. You want the projector to track how many hours the lamp has been used and send out warning messages when the Acer EC.J9000.001 projector lamp reaches end of life.

To reset the Projector Lamp timer:

Open the MAIN MENU. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to the MANAGEMENT menu. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to the Lamp Hour reset option.
Press the right arrow.
The lamp will be reset to zero.

Use the Eco Mode for more lamp hours.

When to replace?

Turn off the power on the main unit.
The cooling fan will continue to operate for two minutes after the power is turned off.
Wait several minutes before unplugging the power cord.
Wait an additional 30 minutes to allow the lamp to cool down. The lamp operates under extreme so avoid touching it before changing the lamp.

Take the new Sony XL-2400 projection lamp out of the box. Don’t shake the lamp as vibrations can damage the lamp. Avoiding touching the glass portion on the lamp as the oil from your fingers can burn black marks on the lamp.

Put the new Sony XL-2400 projection lamp into its place. Mount the new lamp securely or the self-diagnostic function will be triggered. A loose lamp can also cause the screen to go dark.

Step 1: Be ready with an authentic lamp

Start off buying an authentic OEM NEC NP-300XG projector lamp. Avoid any generic counterfeits since they will only cause you problems. Look for the OEM seal of approval before buying.

Step 2: Track life to know when to replace

Your NEC NP-M300XG projector lamp uses the NEC NP16LP projector lamp. When it’s reaching end of life you’ll see the following warning on screen message: LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS USABLE LIFE. PLEASE REPLACE THE LAMP AND FILTER. The LAMP indicator will also blink red. If on screen colours looks off or of the picture is faint or has deteriorated replace the NEC NP-M300XG projector lamp immediately.

Track projector lamp life

The NEC NP-M300XG projector uses NEC NP16LP projector lamp. You can track the hours left for the project lamp with the Usage Time menu.

Go to INFO menu
Scroll down to USAGE TIME to display the LAMP LIFE REMAINING and LAMP HOURS USED.
The progress indicator shows the percentage of remaining bulb life:
When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

Step 3: Changing the NEC NP16LP projector lamp

NOTE: New air filters are shipped with the lamp and it’s recommended you replace them at the same time.

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP16LP projector lamp.

turn off the NEC NP-M300XG projector.
unplug the projector from its power source.
unplug the power cable.
wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Loosen the NEC NP-M300XG projector lamp cover screw.

Push and slide the NEC NP-M300XG projector cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP16LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.)

Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP16LP should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Install a new lamp housing into the NEC M300XG projector, by gently pressing the projector lamp housing into the socket. Take care not to touch the actual bulb as your finger prints can leave oil marks that burn black marks onto the bulb.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lam

Re-attach the NEC NP-M300XG lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Replacing the filters

There are four filters in the NEC NP-M300XG projector:

Honeycomb hard filter – large and small
Accordion soft filter — large and small

Replace all four filters at the same time. Before replacing the filters wipe off any dust and dirt that came loose from the old filters. NOTE: The filters are made with two different types of material in the membrane. Both perform the same.

Push the catch to release the NEC NP-M300XG filter and gently pull it out.

The filter cover is fixed at six separate points in the projector. Bow the filter cover by pushing it slightly until it releases.

Remove the dark sponge filter and clean the filter unit and cover. Attach the new non-woven white material filters.

Filter unit: Attach two honeycomb hard filters to the NEC NP-M300XG filter unit.
Filter cover: Attach the two accordion soft filters to the filter cover. Be sure to align the accordion slits with the protrusions of the filter cover.

Attach the filter cover back to the filter unit. Align the filter until with the filter cover and push the protrusions into place. Make sure all the six mounting points are aligned properly.

Insert the two catches of the top of the filter into the groove of the cabinet. Push the filter until it clicks into place.

Reset the lamp time

Once the NEC NP16LP projector lamp and NEC NP-M300XG projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Clear usage hours and reset hours

Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
Turn on the projector.
From the MENU select RESET.
Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
A confirmation message appears.
Select YES.

Reset the filter hours:

Scroll up to CLEAR Filter HOURS.
A second submenu will appear.
Select YES. Press the ENTER button.

Extending the life of the NEC NP-M300XG projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP16LP projector lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

Auto Mode: 4000 hours
Normal: 5000 hours
Eco ModeL 8000 hours

Watching for end of life

It is time to replace the Epson EB-824H projector lamp when the following signs are seen:

The projected image gets darker or starts to deteriorate.
The message Replace the lamp appears on the screen
The projector lamp warning starts flashing.

Installing the Projector Lamp Replacement

Before installation:

Turn power button off wait for light to stop flashing.
Turn off power switch on Epson EB-824H projector.
Unplug the power cord.
Before changing the projector lamp, allow the Epson EB-824H projector to cool down. It should be cool to the touch before you open it to change the projector lamp. Otherwise you run the risk of burning yourself.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Caution: Don’t touch the actual bulb with your fingers since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

The lamp cover is found on top of the Epson EB-824H projector. Loosen the lamp cover screw — you can’t remove it only loosen it.

Slide the Epson EB-824H projector lamp cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp in place.

Grab the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp by the side indents. Gently pull the lamp out. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should this happen.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

Gently insert the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp making sure it’s facing the right way.

Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp. Be sure not to tighten too much or the lamp may not work.

Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw on the EB-824H projector lamp cover.

Reset the Epson EB-824H projector lamp timer.

Reset the Epson EB-824H projector Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp has been replaced.

Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
Scroll down to the RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt appears asking if you want to RESET LAMP HOURS?
Select YES and press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Prolong the life of the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp:

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp with the following tips:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the Epson EB-824H projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

How to replace the Optoma BL-FP180D

Follow these important safety steps before installing a new Optoma BL-FU180A replacement projector lamp in your Optoma ES522 projector:

Disconnect the power cord.
Switch off the power to the Optoma ES522 projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. The lamp cover is located underneath the Optoma ES522 so place it on soft before turning it over. Remove the two captive screws from the cover.

2. Lift the cover up off the Optoma ES522 and place it to one side. You’ll need to re-install the cover after the new projector lamp has been installed or the projector will not turn on.

3. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU180A projector lamp module in place.

4. Lift up the wire handle and slowly put out the old Optoma BL-FU180A projector lamp. Be careful not to bang the projector lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Be sure to recycle this lamp as it contains mercury. Don’t place it into regular garbage.

5. Take the new Optoma BL-FU180A projector lamp out of its package. Gently place it into the Optoma ES522 projector. Tighten the two screws on the projector lamp.

6. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws. You must now reset the Lamp Replacement Timer.

Reset the projector lamp timer

The Optoma ES522 projector has an automatic projector lamp reset timer that tracks the life of the lamp and triggers the lamp replacement warning. You need to reset the timer each time the lamp is replaced.

To reset:

Press MENU on either the remote or on the projector to launch the on-screen display (OSD) menu.
Scroll over the OPTIONS field.
Scroll down to Select Lamp Reset.

A confirmation screen displays.

Select Yes to reset the lamp counter to zero.
Press MENU to exit the menu.

Longer life for the Optoma ES522 projector lamp:

Adjusting the Brightness Mode on the Optoma ES522 projector will make the projector lamp last longer.

Press MENU on either the remote or on the projector to launch the on-screen display (OSD) menu.
Scroll over the OPTIONS field.
Scroll down to Lamp Brightness Mode.
Bright is the default setting
STD lower brightness setting to conserve lamp life.

Perform there safety steps before installing the new lamp:

Turn off the power on the main unit.
The cooling fan will continue to operate for two minutes after the power is turned off.
Wait several minutes before unplugging the power cord.
