Track the umber of hours left in the Epson EMP-755 projector by going to the Info menu found on the Main menu. The Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp will last up to 2000 hours if the Brightness setting is on normal. Change the setting to low and get up to 3000 hours. Watch for these signs as well to let you know the end of life is coming for the Epson ELPLP32 lamp:

The lamp warning light on the projector starts flashing orange. If it turns red and stays red, replace the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp immediately.
Imaged becomes dark, colors are off or appear to be deteriorating
A message saying “Replace the lamp” appears on screen.

Install the new Epson ELPLP32

Installation will take under 10 minutes but before installing the new Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp into the Epson EMP-755 projector, be sure to follow these preparation steps:

Turn power button off and wait for the power light to stop flashing.
Unplug the power cord from the Epson EMP-755 projector.
The Epson EMP-755 should be cool to the touch before you try to change the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp. This projector operate at a high temperatures so you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow for the cool down period.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Turn the Epson EMP-755 over and placing on a soft, scratch free surface.
Press on the tabs located on top of the EMP-755 cover. Lift up the lamp cover.

Using the screw driver provided with the Epson EMP-755 projector, loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp in place.

Pressing on the indents on the sides of the Epson ELPLP32, pull the projector lamp gently up out of the Epson EMP-755 projector. Take care not to bang the actual lamp or it may break. Learn how to do a proper clean up if the lamp breaks or explodes.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps and be good to the environment.

Gently place the new Epson ELPLP32 lamp into the Epson EMP-755 making sure not to touch the actual bulb. The oil on your fingers will leave a burn mark on the lamp once it heats up and this can cause black out spots on the screen.
Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP32 lamp.
Slide the air filter out and remove it immediately. Slide in the new filter that came with the Epson ELPLP32 lamp. Replace the lamp cover.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer in the Epson EMP-755

Your Epson EMP-755 has a built-in timer to track the life of the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp. So, it’s very important that you reset the lamp timer every time you replace the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp. Here’s how:

Press the MENU button on either the remote control on the projector’s control panel.
Scroll down to the RESET option.
Press Enter. The RESET ALL screen will appear.
Scroll down to LAMP-HOURS RESET.
Press ENTER to open up the confirmation screen

Highlight YES.
Press ENTER.
Press ESC or MENU to exit this option.

Congratulations! You’ve just installed at new Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp in your Epson EMP-755.

Tips for a longer lasting Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

Know when projector lamp end of life is coming

To check h BenQ-_MX812_projector_5J.J3J05.001_projector_lamp_warning ow many hours the BenQ MX812 projector lamp has left, do the following:

Press MENU/EXIT and then press MODE/ENTER to highlight the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced
Press to highlight Lamp Settings and press MODE/ENTER. The Lamp Settings page is displayed.
You will see the Equivalent Lamp Hour information appearing on the menu.
To leave the menu, press MENU/EXIT.

Setting the projector to economic mode will extend the projector lamp life.

A flashing orange light on BenQ MX812 projector indicates that the the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp is reaching end of life. As the projector lamps gets closer to end of life, warning messages will begin to appear. You may also notice the image deteriorating or the color looking off. Change the projector lamp immediately when the final warning screen appears or the projector will simply shut down.

Replacingthe BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp

Before changing the lamp:

Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ MX812 projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes.

Loosen the screw holding the lamp cover onto the BenQ MX812 projector.

Lift up the cover. Remove and dispose of the lamp protection film. Do not insert your fingers between the lamp and the projector. The sharp edges inside the projector may cause injuries.

Disconnect the projector lamp connector from the projector (Step #2 in diagram). Loosen the screw that secures the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp.

Slowly and gently pull the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp out of the projector. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

Insert the new BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp first into the connector on the projector and reconnect the lamp connector.

Make sure the handle is fully locked. Tighten the projector lamp screw. If the screw is too loose or too tight, the projector may not turn on.

Re-install Epson MX812 lamp cover and tighten the screw.

Reset the total lamp operation timer

When the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp in the BenQ MX812 projector has been changed the projector lamp timer must be reset:

Turn on the BenQ MX812ST projector.
After the startup logo, open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu.
Go to the SYSTEM SETUP.
Scroll over to Advanced > Lamp Settings menu.
Press MODE/ENTER to display Lamp Settings page is displayed.
Highlight Reset lamp timer. A warning message is displayed asking if you want to reset the lamp timer.
Highlight Reset and press MODE/ENTER. The lamp time will be reset to “0”.

Extend the life of the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp last longer with the following tips:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Use the Lamp Power option on the BenQ MX812ST projector lamp and set to Economic Mode to reduce the amount of power used but extend lamp life.

Replacing the Boxlight SP-6T projector lamp

The Boxlight SP-6T uses the Boxlight XP5T-930 projector lamp. Before replacing the Boxlight XP5T-930 follow these safety tips:

Disconnect the power cord on the Boxlight SP-6T projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the Boxlight SP-6T projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. These projectors operate using high temperatures and you run the risk of severe burns if you don’t allow it to cool down.

Remove the two screws holding the Boxlight XP5T-930 projector lamp in place.

NOTE: Be sure to recycle the Boxlight XP5T-930 projector lamp as contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle it!

Insert the new Boxlight XP5T-930 and avoid touching the actual bulb as this can result in black spots from the oil on your hands.

Tighten the two screws on the Boxlight XP5T-930 projector lamp . Place the cover back onto the Boxlight SP-6T projector and tighten the lamps screw. You must now reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the SP-6T lamp counter

Once the Boxlight XP5T-930 projector lamp has been replaced, you will need to reset the lamp counter so the Boxlight SP-6T projector can accurately track the number of lamp hours remaining:

Turn the projector on, and press the MENU button and the ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select SETTING and press the SELECT button.
Another dialog box SETTING MENU will appear.
Press the POINT DOWN button and a red-arrow icon will appear.
Move the arrow to Lamp age, and then press the SELECT button. The message “Lamp replace monitor Reset?” is displayed.
Select [Yes] to reset the Timer.

End of projector lamp warnings

A blinking amber light means the Dell 1609WX projector lamp is approaching end of life. You will also see the on-screen message “Lamp is approaching the end of its useful life in full power operation. Replacement suggested!”

Don’t wait too long or you may hear making a loud popping noise before the projector lamps burns. “Lamp Defective” will then show on screen and remain until a new projector lamp has been installed. The projector will eventually turn off.

Replacing the Dell 1609WX projector lamp

Before replacing the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp be sure to turn the projector off and disconnect from the AC plug. Let the projector cool down for at least 30 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. Don’t attempt to change the lamp when the projector is still hot as there is a good chance you can get severely burned.

Place the Dell 1609WX on a soft surface and turn in upside down to access the projector lamp cover. Loose the two screws that hold the projector lamp cover in place.
Loosen the two screws that secure the projector lamp.
Pull the projector lamp up by its metal handle. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. NOTE: Don’t throw the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp into regular garbage! Since it contains mercury, this lamp must be properly recycled.
Install the new Dell 311-8943 projector lamp making sure it is properly aligned into the projector.
Tighten the two screws that secure the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp.
Replace the projector lamp cover and tighten the two screws.
You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the Dell 1609WX projector lamp counter

The Dell 1609WX projector tracks the life of the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp and will trigger the warning signals when it’s time to replace. Each time you replace the Dell 311-8943 projector lamp you must reset the lamp timer to zero. Failure to do so can result in you using the projector past the optimum lamp life and causing the projector lamp to explode.

To access the Main Menu press the left or right buttons on your projector’s control panel or remote control.
Scroll over the the LAMP Menu. Press ENTER to access.
Scroll down to the Lamp Reset icon. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to choose YES and press ENTER to reset the projector lamp timer.

From the LAMP Menu, choose ECO MODE: Select On to use the projector at the lower power level of 165 Watts, which makes the Dell 1609WX projector operate quieter and with lower light that gives more projector lamp life. Select off to operate at the 200 Watts power level.

Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour

Lamp Status Display Settings

The Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector uses four lamps at a time. The Lamp Status Display shows the status of each Sanyo POA-LMP100 lamp:

Yellow Lamp: projector lamp is lighting normally.
Dim Lamp: projector lamp is off
Red Lamp: projector is nearing end of life and should be replaced.
X Mark on Lamp: the lamp is not functioning and needs to be replaced immediately.

Projector lamp management

The Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector is equipped with four projector lamps. The Lamp Management Function automatically changes the combinations of lighting lamps by detecting which lamps are still working.

When any of the four Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp goes out, Lamp Mode will automatically switch from using four lamps to using two lamps. When any of the two Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp is out, the projector will operate using only one lamp.

End of life warning signs

There is a Lamp Replace Indicator at the front and at the back of the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector. When any four of the projector lamp is nearing end of life, these indicators will flash yellow. In order to determine which of the four Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamps needs to be replaced, you’ll need to consult the Lamp Status Display on the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector screen as well.

Installing a new projector lamp

NOTE: Make sure of the number of lamps that need to be replaced by referring to the Lamp Status Display and the Lamp Management Function.

Before replacing any lamps follow these safety steps:

Turn off the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector.
Unplug the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 45 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. The Sanyo PLC-XF46U operates under extremely high temperatures and you can seriously burn yourself if you don’t give the projector time to cool.

To install the lamps:

Remove the two screws on the Sanyo PLC-XF46U Lamp Cover and press the top button to open the Lamp Cover.
Choose which lamp needs to be replaced. BE SURE TO PICK THE CORRECT PROJECTOR LAMP THAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.
Loosen the two screws holding the Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp in place.
Grasp the handle and gently pull out the defective Sanyo POA-LMP100 lamp. Place to one side. Be sure to dispose of the used Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp through a local recycling program. Don’t throw this projector lamp into the regular garbage as it contains mercury.
Take the new Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp by the handle and gently guide it into place.
Tighten the two screws holding the Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp assembly in place.
Replace the Sanyo PLC-XF46U Lamp Cover and tighten the two screws to put the lamp cover back in place.
Reset the Lamp Counter following the instructions below.

Reset the projector lamp counter

Each time you install a new Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp, you’ll need to reset the lamp counter for that particular lamp so the projector can keep track of the numbers of hours the lamp has left.

Turn the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector on.
Press the MENU buttons to open the ON-SCREEN MENU.
Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button to get the red frame pointer to move to the SETTING menu icon.
Press POINT DOWN button to projector Lamp counter reset. Press SELECT.
Move the arrow to the replaced lamp number (Lamp 1, Lamp 2, Lamp 3 or Lamp 4). Press SELECT. BE SURE TO RESET THE CORRECT LAMPS
The message “Lamp replace counter Reset?” will be displayed with YES or NO underneath.
Move the pointer to YES. Press the SELECT button.
Move to the second confirmation box and select YES.

NOTE: BE SURE TO RESET THE CORRECT PROJECTOR LAMP otherwise the lamp replace indicator will continue lighting YELLOW.

Resetting the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector lamp mode

You can set the lamp mode to use either four lamps or two lamps. Using 2 lamps will prolong the life of the projector lamps.

To change the lamp mode:
Press MENU button so the ON-SCREEN Menu will appear.
Using the POINT LEFT/RIGHT button move to SETTING. Press SELECT button.
A second dialog screen appears.
Press the POINT DOWN button to move to LAMP MODE.
4 lamps mode using all lamps. Picture will become brighter.
2 lamps mode using only 2 lamps. Picture will become darker
NOTE: You must wait 90 seconds after changing the Lamp Mode before changing it again.

Tips to make your Sanyo POA-LMP100 projector lamp last longer

Extend the life of your newly installed Sanyo POA-LMP100 by following these helpful tips:

Wait at least five minutes before turning the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector off.
Don’t operate the projector continuously without letting it stand for at least one hour turned off every 24 hours.
Cleaning the air filter regularly will also prolong the life of the Sanyo POA-LMP100 and prevent the Sanyo PLC-XF46U projector from overheating.

Watching for end of life

It is time to replace the Epson EB-826 projector lamp when the following signs are seen:

Installing the Projector Lamp Replacement

The Epson EB- 826 uses the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp.

Before installation:

Turn power button off wait for light to stop flashing.
Turn off power switch on Epson EB-826 projector.
Unplug the power cord.
Before changing the projector lamp, allow the Epson EB-826 projector to cool down. It should be cool to the touch before you open it to change the projector lamp. Otherwise you run the risk of burning yourself.
Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Caution: Don’t touch the actual bulb with your fingers since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

The lamp cover is found on top of the Epson EB-826 projector. Loosen the lamp cover screw — you can’t remove it only loosen it.

Slide the Epson EB-826 projector lamp cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp in place.

Grab the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp by the side indents. Gently pull the lamp out. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should this happen.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

Gently insert the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp making sure it’s facing the right way.

Tighten the screws on the new Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp. Be sure not to tighten too much or the lamp may not work.

Replace the lamp cover and tighten the screw on the EB-826 projector lamp cover.

Reset the Epson EB-826 projector lamp timer.

Reset the projector lamp timer

Reset the Epson EB-826 projector Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp has been replaced.

Press the MENU button on the remote control. The Lamp Reset Menu will appear.
Scroll down to the RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt appears asking if you want to RESET LAMP HOURS?
Select YES and press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Prolong the life of the Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp:

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP50 projector lamp with the following tips:

Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Turn off the Epson EB-826 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.

Replacing the Optoma BL-FP230C projector lamp

Follow these important safety steps before installing a new Optoma BL-FP230C projector lamp:

The used Optoma BL-FP230C contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.
Switch off the power to the Optoma EP719H projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Place something soft underneath the Optoma EP719H and then turn the projector onto it’s back. Remove the two screws holding the cover in place.

2. Push the projector lamp cover up to remove.

3. Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the projector lamp module in place. Slowly put out the old lamp by grabbing the edge of the lamp. 4. Place the new BL-FP230C lamp into the Optoma EP719H projector. Tighten the two screws on the projector lamp. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.

NOTE: The Optoma BL-FP230C projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps!

You must now reset the Lamp Replacement Timer.

Reset the lamptimer

The Optoma EP749 projector has an automatic lamp reset timer that tracks the life of the lamp and triggers the lamp replacement warning. You need to reset the timer each time the projector lamp is replaced.

Press the Menu option on either the remote or on the projector.
Scroll over the Lamp Setting. Press enter.
Select Reset Lamp Hours. Press Enter
The Execute/Cancel command line will appear.
Scroll over to choose Execute. Press Enter.
The lamp hours will be reset to zero.

How to extend the life of the Optoma BL-FP230C

This is your guide for installing a new BenQ MP720C projector lamp in three easy steps.

Step 1: Know when to replace

You can expect up to 4000 hours from the BenQ MP720C projector lamp before you need to replace it. Watch for these warning signs:

The picture looks faded on screen.
The Lamp Indicator blinks red.
Warning Messages about the lamp appear on screen.

Your BenQ MP720C uses the projector lamp. When it needs to be replaced warning messages will appear on the BenQ MP720C projector screen. The Lamp indicator will also will light red letting you know if time to replace the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp.

Warning Messages

When it’s time to replace the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp you’ll see a series warnings appear on screen.

First message: Total (equivalent) lamp hour has reached 3000 hours. Install a new lamp for optimal performance.

Second message: Total (equivalent) lamp hour has reached 3950 hour. A new lamp should be fitted to avoid the inconvenience when the projector runs out of lamp time.

Third message: Total (equivalent) lamp hour has reached 4000 hours. This message will flash in the center of the screen for about 30 seconds together with the Lamp indicator lighting up red for 40 seconds

Final message: If this warning message displays, the projector will shut down in 40 seconds. The lamp MUST be replaced before the projector will operate normally.

Before changing the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp:

Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the MP720 projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes.

The lamp cover is found on the bottom of the projector. Gently turn the projector over onto a soft surface Using a screwdriver, loosen the screw holding the BenQ MP720C lamp cover in place.

Remove the lamp cover and place it to one side.

Disconnect the lamp connector by pushing it against the projector while pulling it up.

Loosen the screw on the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp.

Use the side indentations to slowly pull the lamp out of the projector. Pulling out too quickly may cause the bulb to break. If this happens go to: What to do when your projector lamp explodes.

NOTE: The BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost (another reason to buy authentic lamps).

Gently lower the new BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp into the slot making sure to line up the two holes properly. Tighten the screw on the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp.

Connect the lamp connector to the projector.
Place the lamp cords back to the slots.
Tighten the lamp screw.

Replace the lamp cover on the BenQ MP720 projector

Reset the lamp timer

It’s important to only reset the lamp timer when the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp has been replaced. Resetting the lamp timer without changing the BenQ CS.5JJ1K.001 projector lamp can severely damage your BenQ MP720C projector.

Press and hold the Exit button on the projector for 5 seconds to display the total used
lamp time.
Press Auto on the projector or on the remote control to reset the lamp hour to “0”.
Wait about 5 seconds to let the OSD disappear.

Do not reset if the lamp is not new or replaced as this could cause damage.

Install a replacement Vivitek D825MX projector lamp

This tutorial shows you how to change your Vivitek D825MX projector lamp.

Warning signs

When you notice the Power LED flashing 5 times consecutively, your Vivitek D825MX projector lamp is reaching its end of life and needs to be replaced immediately.

Be sure the purchase an authentic Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp for your Vivitek D825MXprojector. Although they like a bargain, avoid knock-off “compatible” lamps. You get what you pay for and in the case of generic lamps it’s usually a long list of problems:

Replacing the 1000055-A projector lamp

Before changing the projector lamp:

Remove the two captive screws holding the lamp cover place.
Remove the lamp cover and place it to one side.
Remove the tw0 screws holding the Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp in place.

Click up the wire handle and gently pull out the Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp. Pulling too quickly can cause the projector bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.

NOTE: The Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamps! If you bought from an authentic manufacturer they will recycle the lamp for you at no extra cost.

To finish the installation:

Take the new Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp out of its packaging. Lift up the wire handle and gently guide it into the Vivitek D825MXprojector.
Take care not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your fingers can leave a smudge that will burn into a black spot when the projector heats up.
Tighten the lamp screw.
Re-install the Vivitek D825MX projector lamp cover and tighten the screw.
Reset the total lamp hour timer.

Resetting the Vivitek D825MS Lamp Hour Timer

It’s important to only reset the lamp timer when the Vivitek 1000055-A projector lamp has been replaced.

Resetting the projector lamp timer without changing the lamp can make it work beyond its recommended hours and cause harm to your Vivitek D825MX projector.

Press the Menu button to open the OSD menu.
Press left/right arrow keys to move to the Installation II menu.
Press up/down arrows to move to the Advanced menu
Press Enter.
Using the or up/down arrow keys to move down to the Advanced menu.
Press the cursor up/down arrows button to Lamp Hour Reset.
Press Enter.
A message will appear saying the Lamp Hour has been reset to zero.
Press the Menu button to return to the main Installation II menu.

3 Steps to replacement NEC NP-M300XS projector lamp

Use this step-by-step guide to replace the NP-M300XS projector lamp.

Step 1: Know when to replace

Your NEC NP-M300XS projector lamp uses the NEC NP16LP projector lamp. When it’s reaching end of life you’ll see the following warning on screen message: LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS USABLE LIFE. PLEASE REPLACE THE LAMP AND FILTER. The LAMP indicator will also blink red. If on screen colours looks off or of the picture is faint or has deteriorated replace the NEC NP-300XS projector lamp immediately.

Track projector lamp life

The NEC NP-M300XS projector uses NEC NP16LP projector lamp. You can track the hours left for the project lamp with the Usage Time menu.

Go to INFO menu
Scroll down to USAGE TIME to display the LAMP LIFE REMAINING and LAMP HOURS USED.
The progress indicator shows the percentage of remaining bulb life:
When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

Step 2: Be ready with an authentic lamp

Start off buying an authentic OEM NEC NP-300XS projector lamp. Avoid any generic counterfeits created with substandard toxic materials (including the carcinogenic Krypton-85). These lamps shorter life, are prone to explosions and often damage the sensitive electronics in your NEC NP-M300XS projector. Generics have no safeguards to protect your eyesight either. Save yourself the hassle and buy authentic!

Step 3: Changing the NEC NP16LP projector lamp

NOTE: New air filters are shipped with the lamp and it’s recommended you replace them at the same time.

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP16LP projector lamp.

turn off the NEC NP-M300XS projector.
unplug the projector from its power source.
unplug the power cable.
wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Loosen the NEC NP-M300XS projector lamp cover screw.

Push and slide the NEC NP-M300XS projector cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP16LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.)

Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP16LP should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Install a new lamp housing into the NEC M300XS projector, gently pressing the projector lamp housing into the socket. Take care not to touch the actual bulb as your finger prints can leave oil marks that burn black marks onto the bulb.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lam

Re-attach the NEC NP-M300XS lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Replacing the filters

There are four filters in the NEC NP-M300XS projector:

Honeycomb hard filter – large and small
Accordion soft filter — large and small

Replace all four filters at the same time. Before replacing the filters wipe off any dust and dirt that came loose from the old filters. NOTE: The filters are made with two different types of material in the membrane. Both perform the same.

Push the catch to release the NEC NP-M300XS filter and gently pull it out.

The filter cover is fixed at six separate points in the projector. Bow the filter cover by pushing it slightly until it releases.

Remove the dark sponge filter and clean the filter unit and cover. Attach the new non-woven white material filters.

Filter unit: Attach two honeycomb hard filters to the NEC NP-M300XS filter unit.
Filter cover: Attach the two accordion soft filters to the filter cover. Be sure to align the accordion slits with the protrusions of the filter cover.

Attach the filter cover back to the filter unit. Align the filter until with the filter cover and push the protrusions into place. Make sure all the six mounting points are aligned properly.

Insert the two catches of the top of the filter into the groove of the cabinet. Push the filter until it clicks into place.

Reset the lamp time

Once the NEC NP16LP projector lamp and NEC NP-M300XS projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Clear usage hours and reset hours

Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
Turn on the projector.
From the MENU select RESET.
Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
A confirmation message appears.
Select YES.

Reset the filter hours:

Scroll up to CLEAR Filter HOURS.
A second submenu will appear.
Select YES. Press the ENTER button.

Extending the life of the NEC NP-M300XS projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP16LP projector lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

Auto Mode: 4000 hours
Normal: 5000 hours
Eco ModeL 8000 hours
