Know the warning signs

Your NEC NP-300X projector lamp uses the NEC NP15LP projector lamp. When it’s reaching end of life you’ll see the following warning signs:

message on screen reads LAMP HAS REACHED THE END OF ITS USABLE LIFE. PLEASE REPLACE THE LAMP AND FILTER.
the LAMP indicator begins to blink red
colour looks off
picture is faint or has deteriorated

Track projector lamp life

Track the life of the NEC NP15LP projector lamp from the Usage Time menu.

Go to INFO menu
Scroll down to USAGE TIME to display the LAMP LIFE REMAINING and LAMP HOURS USED.
The progress indicator shows the percentage of remaining bulb life:
When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

Changing the NEC NP15LP projector lamp

NOTE: New air filters are shipped with the lamp and it’s recommended you replace them at the same time.

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP15LP projector lamp

turn off the NEC NP-300X projector.
unplug the projector from its power source.
unplug the power cable.
wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Loosen the NEC NP-300X projector lamp cover screw.

Push and slide the NEC NP-300X projector cover off.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP15LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.)

Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP15LP lamp should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Install a new lamp housing into the NEC NP-300X projector, gently pressing the projector lamp housing into the socket. Take care not to touch the actual bulb as your finger prints can leave oil marks that burn black marks onto the bulb.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lam

Re-attach the NEC NP-300X lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Replacing the filters

There are four filters in the NEC NP-300X projector:

Honeycomb hard filter – large and small
Accordion soft filter — large and small

Replace all four filters at the same time. Before replacing the filters wipe off any dust and dirt that came loose from the old filters. NOTE: The filters are made with two different types of material in the membrane. Both perform the same.

Push the catch to release the NEC NP-300X filter and gently pull it out.

The filter cover is fixed at six separate points in the projector. Bow the filter cover by pushing it slightly until it releases.

Remove the dark sponge filter and clean the filter unit and cover. Attach the new non-woven white material filters.

Filter unit: Attach two honeycomb hard filters to the NEC NP-300X filter unit.
Filter cover: Attach the two accordion soft filters to the filter cover. Be sure to align the accordion slits with the protrusions of the filter cover.

Attach the filter cover back to the filter unit. Align the filter until with the filter cover and push the protrusions into place. Make sure all the six mounting points are aligned properly.

Insert the two catches of the top of the filter into the groove of the cabinet. Push the filter until it clicks into place.

Reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP15LP projector lamp and NEC NP-300X projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Clear usage hours and reset hours

Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
Turn on the projector.
From the MENU select RESET.
Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
A confirmation message appears.
Select YES.

Reset the filter hours:

Scroll up to CLEAR Filter HOURS.
A second submenu will appear.
Select YES. Press the ENTER button.

Extending the life of the NEC NP-300X projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP15LP projector lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

Auto Mode: 4000 hours
Normal: 5000 hours
Eco ModeL 8000 hours

When the Epson EB-S92 projector lamp uses Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp from a recognized OEM dealer for your Epson EB-S92 projector. When buying lis reaching end of life the projector lamp indicator will flash orange and continue flashing until the projector lamp has been changed.

The message Replace the lamp also appears on the screen. You may also the image on screen gets darker or starts deteriorate altogether. In order to maintain projector brightness and image quality, replace with a new Epson LPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp as soon as possible.

The Epson EB-S92 projector lamp can last for close to 4,000 hours when the power consumption is set to NORMAL and up to 5,000 hours if the ECO option is used. You can check the hours left on the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp from the INFO Menu access off the Main Menu.

Installing a new ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp

Before replacing the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp follow these important safety rules:

Always unplug the power cord on the Epson EB-S92 projector before replacing the projector lamp.
This projector operates using high temperature. Wait at least 60 minutes before replacing the lamp so you don’t run the risk of getting burned.
Never touch the bare projector lamp bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks onto the projector lamp when it heats up.
Never operate the Epson EB-S92 projector with the projector lamp removed.

Remove the projector lamp cover screws and place to one side.

Loosen the two screws holding the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp in place (you can’t remove them).

Gently lift out the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp taking care not to bang it against the projector.

Gently insert the new Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. Make sure it fits into the Epson EB-S92 projector properly. (Check that it’s facing the right way.) Tighten the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp.

NOTE: The LPLP58 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

You can now reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the Epson EB-S92 projector lamp timer using the projector’s menu system.

Press the MENU button on the remote control or on the projector’s control panel. You see the main menu.
Select the RESET menu. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to select RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt filed appears asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Select YES. Press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Longer life for the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp

Extend the life of the Epson ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp with the following tips:

Set the Power Consumption to ECO option.
Clean the air filters regularly so the Epson EB-S92 projector doesn’t overheat.

When to replace the projector lamp

The life of the Panasonic PT-D5500UL projector lamp will vary depending on the working conditions and settings. On regular settings you can expect close to 1400 hours of lamp life. When it’s time to replace both LAMP1 or LAMP2, an on-screen reminder appears for about 30 seconds, After 1500 hours, the on-screen indication will stay on the screen unless the MENU button is pushed. A message REPLACE THE LAMP will also appear on screen as well.

Invest in authentic

These days it’s can be a challenge to find an authentic OEM lamp being sold over the Internet. There are hundreds of counterfeit lamp websites so how can you spot the authentic lamps? Replacing the Panasonic PT-D5500UL projector lamp

Your Panasonic PT-D5500UL projector uses the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp. Safety tips before replacing the Panasonic PT-D5500ULprojector lamp:

Press the POWER OFF button
Select OK using the right or left arrows on the control panel. Press the ENTER button. (Or press the POWER OFF button again. The power indicator will light up orange.
Wait until the power indicator turns red and the cooling fans stop running.
Press MAIN POWER to OFF.

Projector lamp installation steps:

Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the screw securing the projector lamp cover. Slide the lamp unit cover toward the left to remove it. (See diagram #2)

Remove the two screws securing the fan unit. (See diagram #3)

Gently open the fan unit in front of the both Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamps. (See diagram #4)

Remove the screws holding the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp in place. (Each lamps has two screws. Take hold of the wire handle and gently remove the projector lamp. (See diagram #5)

NOTE: The Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this projector lamp!

Install the new lamp unit taking care not the touch the actual project lamp bulb as oil from your fingers will remain on the bulb and burn black spots when the projector lamp heats up.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to securely tighten each of the two screws on both projector lamps.

Put the fan back in place and tighten the two screens to hold it in place. (See diagram #8)

Slide the cover a little toward the right, and secure it by tightening the screw. (See diagram #9)

NOTE: Firmly install the projector lamp unit and projector lamp cover. If not installed properly, the protection circuit will be activated and the projector will not turn back on.

To reset the projector lamp timer

Each time you switch to a new Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp you need to reset the Panasonic PT-D5500UL projector lamp timer.

Insert the power cord plug into the wall outlet and then press the MAIN POWER switch.
Press the “ I ” button on the remote control to display an image picture onto the screen.
Press MENU to display the MAIN MENU screen.
Scroll down to select OPTION2. Press ENTER to display the OPTION 2 menu.
Scroll down to SYSTEM INFORMATION. Press ENTER to display the SYSTEM INFORMATION menu.
Press and hold the ENTER button on the projector or the remote control for approximately 3 seconds. The option LAMP TIME RESET will be added to the menu.

Scroll down to select the projector that has was replaced. Select the lamp which has been changed

LAMP1: Replace the LAMP UNIT 1
LAMP2: Replace the LAMP UNIT 2
Press ENTER.
When the LAMP TIME RESET display flashes, press ENTER again.
The used hours of the specified lamp unit will be reset to zero.
Press the MENU button to leave the LAMP TIME RESET menu.

Quick reset:

When lamp unit 1 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737381, and then press ENTER.
When lamp unit 2 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737382, and then press ENTER.
When the projector lamps hours have been reset, the lamp monitor (LAMP1/LAMP2) will flash for 3 seconds.

Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

2. Remove the lid and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid as the Optoma HD67 projector will not turn back on until the lamp cover has been properly installed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp in place. Note: The used Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

4. Lift up the wire handle on the Optoma BL-FU185A lamp and slowly remove it from the projector. Be careful not to bang the lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Learn what to do if the lamp has exploded inside the projector.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A from its packaging. Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new projector lamp and insert it gently into the Optoma HD67 projector.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma HD67 projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the projector lamp. When the Optoma BL-FU185A is approaching end of life, the lamp replacement timer will trigger the warning system. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector. Should the lamp explode, learn what to do. To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

Turn on the projector.
Using the remote press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select LAMP SETTINGS
Select LAMP RESET
Select YES.
Press MENU to exit.

Extend the life of the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp:

Chose the “STD” mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.
Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
Make sure there is enough airflow around the Optoma HD67 projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Step 1: Buy authentic

Purchase your Optoma HD6700 projector lamp ahead of time and be prepared. The Optoma HD6700 projector uses the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp Be sure to purchase an authentic, OES projector lamp for your Optoma HD6700 projector and learn how to spot the counterfeit.

Your Optoma HD6700 projector is approaching end of life, you may notice the Lamp-LED light flashing red or the picture quality starting to get poor resolution with washed out colours.

As the projector lamp approaches end of life, the projector lamp replacement message flashes on screen. Change your proejctor lamp immediately. The projector will not work if the lamp has burnt out or broken.

Step 3: Installing the Optoma HD6700 projector projector lamp

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamps from its packaging. Without touching the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the lamp and gently insert.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Replacement Timer.

Step 2: Know the warning signs

Depending on the usage and maintenance, the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp in the Sharp XG-P20XE projector operates for approximately 1,000 hours. At 900 hours, the projector LAMP REPLACEMENT indicator lights up red. At the same time the LAMP icon flashes yellow in the lower-left corner of the picture. If you notice a significant deterioration of the picture and color quality, you should also replace the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp.

You can see the hours remaining for lamp usage by checking the On-screen Display option found on the Main Menu.

Replace the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp immediately at 900 hours and don’t wait! Should the projector lamp explode, learn what to do.

Installing the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp

Before replacing the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 RLMPF0072CEZZ projector lamp follow these important safety tips:

Switch off the power to the Sharp XG-P20XE projector by pressing the Power button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least one hour. If should be cool to the touch. The Sharp XG-P20XE projector uses high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

Turn over the Sharp XG-P20XE projector onto a soft service and loosen the user service screw that holds the projector lamp cover on place. Slide the cover off away from the projector and place it to one side.

Remove the screws holding the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp in place. Grab the wire handle and gently pull the Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp out.

Take the new Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp and press it firmly into the lamp cage compartment. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as the oil from your fingers left on the lamp will burn black holes onto the lamp that appear on screen.

Note: The used Sharp BQC-XGP20X//1 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

Fasten the securing screws. Slide the lamp cage cover back on in the direction of the projector. Then tighten the user service screw.

Reset the lamp timer and clean the air filters.

To reset the Sharp XG-P20XE projector lamp timer:

While pressing DOWN arrow, RIGHT arrow and ENTER on the projector, press POWER ON on the projector.

“LAMP 0000H” is displayed, indicating that the lamp timer is reset.

To clean the Sharp XG-P20XE air filter

Press the air filter tab and lift open the filter cover away from the projector.

Grasp the air filter between your fingers and lift it off the filter cover.
Vacuum the dust off the air filter – DO NOT WASH.
Put the air filter back on the filter frame.
Insert the tab on the end of the filter cover into the filter cover opening and press the filter cover into position.

Replace the Epson EB-X92 projector lamp in three easy steps using this easy guide.

Step 1: Recognizing the end of life warning signs

The Epson EB-X92 projector lamp can last for close to 4,000 hours with power consumption set to NORMAL and up to 5,000 hours if the ECO option is used. n order to maintain projector brightness and image quality, replace with a new Epson LPLP58 projector lamp as soon as possible. When the Epson EB-X92 projector lamp is reaching end of life you’ll notice the following warning signs:

projector lamp indicator will flash orange and continue flashing until the projector lamp has been changed.
The message Replace the lamp appears on the screen.
on-screen image on screen gets darker
colors start to deteriorate altogether.

Step 2: Avoid generics, invest in authentic

When buying look for the seal of approval. Learn to spot copycat lamps posing as authentic lamps. While these generic lamps appear to be a bargain, they will actually end up costing you more money in the long run for the following rules:

generic have a shorter life
prone to explosions
created with toxic substitute parts they pose a significant health hazard
damage the sensitive optics in your Epson EB-X92 projector.

Step 3: Installing the new projector lamp

Before replacing the ELPLP58 projector lamp follow these important safety rules:

Always unplug the power cord on the Epson EB-X92 projector before replacing the projector lamp.
This projector operates using high temperature. Wait at least 60 minutes before replacing the lamp so you don’t run the risk of getting burned.
Never touch the bare projector lamp bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks onto the projector lamp when it heats up.
Never operate the Epson EB-X92 projector with the projector lamp removed.

NOTE: The LPLP58 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp! Gently insert the new Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. Make sure it fits into the Epson EB-X9 projector properly. (Check that it’s facing the right way.) Tighten the Epson LPLP58 projector lamp. You can know reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer

After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the Epson EB-X92 projector lamp timer using the projector’s menu system.

Press the MENU button on the remote control or on the projector’s control panel. You see the main menu.
Select the RESET menu. Press ENTER.
Scroll down to select RESET LAMP HOURS. Press ENTER.
A prompt filed appears asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Select YES. Press ENTER.
Press MENU to exit.

Longer life for the ELPLP58 projector lamp

Extend the life of the Epson ELPLP58 projector lamp with the following tips:

Set the Power Consumption to ECO option.
Clean the air filters regularly so the Epson EB-X92 projector doesn’t overheat.
Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector.

When the Boxlight SP45M-930 is reaching end of life, the alarm light on the Boxlight SP-45M will start blinking red.

The lamp hours used timer in the ABOUT menu counts the number if hours the lamp has been in use. After 1980 hours the message “Change lamp” appears on the screen at start up. When the timer reaches 2000 hours, the lamp will no longer light. It will be tome to replace the Boxlight SP45M-930

Other indications that the lamp is reaching end of life include a picture that looks dim on screen or one with faded colors. Don’t use the lamp in the projector past it’s due date or it may overheat, stop working or explode causing the projector to shut down.

Replacing the Boxlight SP45M-930 projector lamp

Before replacing the Boxlight SP45M-930 follow these safety tips:

Disconnect the power cord on the Boxlight SP-45M projector.
Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the Boxlight SP-45M projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. These projectors operate using high temperatures and you run the risk of severe burns if you don’t allow it to cool down.

Place the projector on a soft surface and turn it over. Remove the lamp door by pushing the tab forward towards the lens. Loosen the three screws holding the lamp unit in place.

Carefully pull out and remove lamp housing. Be careful not to bang the bulb or it can shatter. Learn what to do if the bulb has broken.

Insert the new Boxlight SP45M-930 projector lamp using the side dents. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as this can result in black spots from the oil on your hands. Tighten the screws on the new projector lamp. Close the lid. You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Boxlight SP-45M lamp counter

Once the Boxlight SP45M-930 has been replaced, you will need to reset the lamp counter so the Boxlight SP-45M projector can accurately track the number of lamp hours remaining.

To reset the lamp hours:

Plug in the power cord and press the Power switch to turn the projector back on.
Go to SERVICE MENU.
Scroll down to the Reset lamp.
Press Enter to reset the lamp hours to zero.

When to replace the projector lamp

When it’s time to replace the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamp you’ll see lamp replacement message flash on screen. Change the lamp in your Optoma HD66 projector immediately. You may also notice the Lamp-LED light flashing red or the picture quality starting to get poor resolution with washed out colours.

Installing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp

Before replacing the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamp follow these important safety tips:

Switch off the power to the Optoma HD66 projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
Disconnect the power cord.
Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

2. Remove the lid and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid as the Optoma HD66 projector will not turn back on until the lamp cover has been properly installed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamp in place.

Note: The used Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

4. Lift up the wire handle on the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) lamp and slowly remove it from the projector. Be careful not to bang the lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Learn what to do if the lamp has exploded inside the projector.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) from its packaging. Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new projector lamp and insert it gently into the Optoma HD66 projector.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma HD66 projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the projector lamp. When the Optoma BL-FU185A (SP.8EH01GC01) is approaching end of life, the lamp replacement timer will trigger the warning system. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector. Should the lamp explode, learn what to do.

To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

Turn on the projector.
Using the remote press MENU
Select OPTIONS
Select LAMP SETTINGS
Select LAMP RESET
Select YES.
Press MENU to exit.

Replacing the Phoenix S25-930 projector lamp

Before replacing the Phoenix S25-930 follow these safety tips:

Place the cover back onto the Boxlight Phoenix X30 projector and tighten the lamps screw. You must now reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Boxlight Phoenix X30 lamp counter

Once the PhoenixS25-930 projector lamp has been replaced, you will need to reset the lamp counter so the Phoenix X30 projector can accurately track the number of lamp hours remaining:

Turn the projector on.
Press the MENU button. The ON-SCREEN MENU will appear.
Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to move across the top menu. Select STATUS.
Press the POINT DOWN button and scroll down to LAMP HOUR. Press ENTER.
Lamp hours will be set to zeto.
