  • When the lamp usage reaches 0, the Lamp Life REMAINING starts a count down from 100 hours
  • When the count down reaches 0, the projector will turn off and not turn on.

Changing the NEC NP15LP projector lamp

NOTE: New air filters are shipped with the lamp and it’s recommended you replace them at the same time.

Follow these important safety instructions before installing the new NEC NP15LP projector lamp

  • turn off the NEC NP-M260W projector.
  • unplug the projector from its power source.
  • unplug the power cable.
  • wait until the projector is cool to the touch to avoid getting burned.

Loosen the two screws holding the NEC NP15LP projector lamp in place. (The screws will not come out only loosen.)

Remove the projector lamp by holding the indent and pulling up.

NOTE: Your NEC NP15LP lamp should be properly recycled. These lamps contain mercury and can’t be placed into common garbage.

Push the top center on the projector lamp to secure it. Tighten the screw on the projector lam

Re-attach the NEC NP-M230W lamp cover by sliding the cover until it snaps into place. Tighten the screw on the lamp cover.

Replacing the filters

There are four filters in the NEC NP-M260W projector:

  • Honeycomb hard filter – large and small
  • Accordion soft filter — large and small

Replace all four filters at the same time. Before replacing the filters wipe off any dust and dirt that came loose from the old filters. NOTE: The filters are made with two different types of material in the membrane. Both perform the same.

The filter cover is fixed at six separate points in the projector. Bow the filter cover by pushing it slightly until it releases.

  • Filter unit: Attach two honeycomb hard filters to the NEC NP-M260W filter unit.
  • Filter cover: Attach the two accordion soft filters to the filter cover. Be sure to align the accordion slits with the protrusions of the filter cover.

Insert the two catches of the top of the filter into the groove of the cabinet. Push the filter until it clicks into place.

 

Reset the lamp timer

Once the NEC NP15LP projector lamp and NEC NP-M260W projector filter have both been replaced you will need to reset the timer for both. You want the projector to be able to accurately track the projector lamp life.

Clear usage hours and reset hours

  • Plug in the power cored into the wall outlet.
  • Turn on the projector.
  • From the MENU select RESET.
  • Choose CLEAR LAMP HOURS.
  • A confirmation message appears.
  • Select YES.

Reset the filter hours:

  • Scroll up to CLEAR Filter HOURS.
  • A second submenu will appear.
  • Select YES. Press the ENTER button.

Extending the life of the NEC NP15LP projector lamp

Get your newly installed NEC NP15LP lamp will last longer by choosing the ECO option. The ECO MODE increases projector lamp life by lowering the power consumption. There are three modes to choose from:

  • Auto Mode: 4000 hours
  • Normal: 5000 hours
  • Eco ModeL 8000 hours

  2. This projector operates using high temperature. Wait at least 60 minutes before replacing the lamp so you don’t run the risk of getting burned.

When to replace the projector lamp

Your Optoma HD600X projector uses the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp . When the projector lamp is approaching end of life, you may notice the Lamp-LED light flashing red or the picture quality starting to get poor resolution with washed out colours.

As the projector lamp approaches end of life, the projector lamp replacement message flashes on screen. Change your proejctor lamp immediately. The projector will not work if the lamp has burnt out or broken.

  • Switch off the power to the HD600X projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

 

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

2. Remove the lid and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid as the Optoma HD600X projector will not turn back on until the lamp cover has been properly installed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU185A  in place.

Note: The used Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

4. Lift up the wire handle on the Optoma BL-FU185A  projector lamp and slowly remove it from the projector.

Be careful not to bang the projector lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Learn how to clean up a broken projector lamp.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamps from its packaging. Without touching the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new lamp and gently insert.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Replacement Timer.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma HD600X projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the lamp. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

  • Turn on the projector.
  • Using the remote press MENU
  • Select OPTIONS
  • Select LAMP SETTINGS

  • Chose the “STD” mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.
  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the Optoma HD600X projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

When the Canon LV-LP21 projector lamp has reached its end of life the LAMP REPLACE on the projector will light yellow. Replace the lamp immediately when you see this.

Other warning signs may be a dim picture, color that appears washed and an image that is fading.

Replace the Canon LV-LP21 projector lamp

Before changing the projector lamp:

  • Let the Canon LV-X4 cool down for at least 45 minutes. This projector operates at an extremely high temperature and you could get badly burned if it’s still hot. Don’t rush it.
  • Be sure to unplug the electrical cord so there is no chance the projector could get turned on during the installation. This could damage your projector.

  • Loosen the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. Place the cover aside.
  • Loosen the two screws and pull out the Canon LV-LP21 (9923A001) lamp assembly by using the built in handle.
  • NOTE: The used LV-LP21 projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.
  • Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn how to clean up a broken lamp.
  • Replace the lamp assembly with a new Canon LV-LP21. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as oil from your fingers can leave black marks on the lamp.
  • Tighten the two screws on the lamp.
  • Put back the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.
  • Connect the AC power cord to the Canon LV-LP21 (9923A001) and turn on the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the lamp timer counter

After replacing the Canon LV-LP21 (9923A001) projector lamp, you’ll need to turn off the LAMP REPLACE indicator by resetting the LAMP REPLACE COUNTER. The counter tracks the number of hours the lamp the Canon LV-X4 projector has been used and triggers the warning light when the lamp is reaching its end of life. Not resetting it after may stop your projector from turning back on.

  • Turn the projector on and press the MENU.
  • The On-Screen menu will be displayed on the left.
  • Using the arrow buttons, mover the red frame pointer to the SETTING menu icon.

  • Press OK to open up as the RESET LAMP COUNTER box.
  • Click on the SET option to open a confirmation window.
  • The message “Lamp replace counter reset?” is displayed.
  • Click on YES.
  • Press OK.
  • The lamp hours will be reset to zero.

When to replace the projector lamp

This projector is equipped with three indicators lamp to show when the Panasonic ET-LAD55 lamp needs replacement. These lamps flash or light up to indicate a problem or when the projector lamp has reached its end of life.

Projector lamp life with the Panasonic PT-D5500U may vary depending on the working conditions and settings. When the projector lamp being used reaches 1300 hours, the lamp monitor (LAMP1 or LAMP2) light up to the standby state. The on-screen appears for about 30 seconds recommending replacing the projector lamp. After 1500 hours, the on-screen indication will stay on the screen unless the MENU button is pushed.

A message REPLACE THE LAMP will appear on screen as well. If your Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp unit is not replaced after the warning message, the projector enters a standby state. It will remain in standby state until the projector lamp is changed.

Replace the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp

Follow these important safety tips before replacing the Panasonic PT-DW5600U projector lamp:

  • Press the POWER OFF button
  • Select OK using the right or left arrows on the control panel. Press the ENTER button. (Or press the POWER OFF button again. The power indicator will light up orange.
  • Wait until the power indicator turns red and the cooling fans stop running.
  • Press MAIN POWER to OFF.

Projector lamp installation steps:

Remove the two screws securing the fan unit. (See diagram #3)

Gently open the fan unit in front of the both Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamps. (See diagram #4)

Remove the screws holding the Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp in place. (Each lamps has two screws. Take hold of the wire handle and gently remove the projector lamp. (See diagram #5)

NOTE: The Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this projector lamp!

Install the new lamp unit taking care not the touch the actual project lamp bulb as oil from your fingers will remain on the bulb and burn black spots when the projector lamp heats up.

Use a Phillips screwdriver to securely tighten each of the two screws on both projector lamps.

Slide the cover a little toward the right, and secure it by tightening the screw. (See diagram #9)

NOTE: Firmly install the projector lamp unit and projector lamp cover. If not installed properly, the protection circuit will be activated and the projector will not turn back on.

To reset the projector lamp timer

Each time you switch to a new Panasonic ET-LAD55 projector lamp you need to reset the Panasonic PT-D5500U projector lamp timer.

  • Insert the power cord plug into the wall outlet and then press the MAIN POWER switch.
  • Press the “ I ” button on the remote control to display an image picture onto the screen.
  • Press MENU to display the MAIN MENU screen.
  • Scroll down to select OPTION2. Press ENTER to display the OPTION 2 menu.
  • Scroll down to SYSTEM INFORMATION. Press ENTER to display the SYSTEM INFORMATION menu.
  • Press and hold the ENTER button on the projector or the remote control for approximately 3 seconds. The option LAMP TIME RESET will be added to the menu.

Scroll down to select the projector that has was replaced. Select the lamp which has been changed

  • LAMP1: Replace the LAMP UNIT 1
  • LAMP2: Replace the LAMP UNIT 2
  • Press ENTER.
  • When the LAMP TIME RESET display flashes, press ENTER again.
  • The used hours of the specified lamp unit will be reset to zero.
  • Press the MENU button to leave the LAMP TIME RESET menu.

Quick reset:

  • When lamp unit 1 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737381, and then press ENTER.
  • When lamp unit 2 has been replaced: In standby mode, press the number buttons in the sequence of 737382, and then press ENTER.
  • When the projector lamps hours have been reset, the lamp monitor (LAMP1/LAMP2) will flash for 3 seconds.

Replacing the projector lamp

  • Disconnect the power cord on the Boxlight CP-33t projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the Boxlight CP-33t projector to cool for at least one hour. These projectors operate using high temperatures and you run the risk of severe burns if you don’t allow it to cool down.

  • NOTE: Be sure to recycle the Boxlight CP13T-930 projector lamp as contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle it!
  • Insert the new CP13T-930 and avoid touching the actual bulb as this can result in black spots from the oil on your hands.
  • Tighten the two screws on the Boxlight CP13T-930.
  • Place the cover back onto the Boxlight CP-33t projector and tighten the lamps screw. You must now reset the lamp timer.

These instructions can also be used on the Epson EB-X92 projector.

Step 1: Recognizing the end of life warning signs

The Epson EB-X9 projector lamp can last for close to 4,000 hours with power consumption set to NORMAL and up to 5,000 hours if the ECO option is used. n order to maintain projector brightness and image quality, replace with a new Epson LPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp as soon as possible.

When the Epson EB-X9 projector lamp is reaching end of life you’ll notice the following warning signs:

Step 3: Installing the new projector lamp

Before replacing the ELPLP58 (V13H010L58) projector lamp follow these important safety rules:

  1. Always unplug the power cord on the Epson EB-X9 projector before replacing the projector lamp.
  2. This projector operates using high temperature. Wait at least 60 minutes before replacing the lamp so you don’t run the risk of getting burned.
  3. Never touch the bare projector lamp bulb as the oil from your fingers will burn black marks onto the projector lamp when it heats up.
  4. Never operate the Epson EB-X9 projector with the projector lamp removed.

After you replace the lamp, you need to reset the Epson EB-X9 projector lamp timer using the projector’s menu system.

When to replace the projector lamp

When the final warning screen appears you must change the projector lamp immediately.

  • Press MENU/EXIT and then press MODE/ENTER to highlight the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced

  • To leave the menu, press MENU/EXIT.
  • You can also get the lamp hour information on the INFORMATION menu.

Setting the projector to economic mode will extend the projector lamp life.

Install a new BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp

Before changing the lamp:

  • Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ MX811ST projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes.

Disconnect the projector lamp connector from the projector (Step #2 in diagram). Loosen the screw that secures the BenQ 5J.J3J05.001 projector lamp.

When to replace

The Eiki LC-SX4UE is able to detect lamp life and switch between the two. Check the number of lamps being used on the Lamp Status and started by understanding the lamp mode.

Lamp Mode Changeover: Lamp Management Function automatically changes the combination of lighting lamp (Lamp Mode) by detecting the status of each lamp. When any of the two lamps goes out, Lamp Mode is changed over from 2 lamps to 1 lamp. Lamp Mode can be switched to 2 lamps or 1 lamp manually. Check the number of lamps being used on the Lamp Status.

Lamp Status

The Eiki LC-SX4UE is equipped with two projection lamps for a brighter image. It’s recommended that you change both Eiki POA-LMP39 lamps at the same time as well as the air filter.

  • ON: Yellow lamp on screen: Lamps are functioning normally.
  • OFF: Dim Lamp: Lamp is turned off and not in use.
  • NEAR END: Red lamp: Projection Lamp is nearing its end. When image becomes darker or color becomes unnatural, replace lamp. The Lamp replace lights on the projector lights yellow at the same time.
  • OUT: X Mark on lamp: The lamp has reached its end of life and fails to turn on. It may also be defective. Replace lamp corresponding with number marked X.

Follow these important safety steps before replacing the Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamp.

  • The Eiki LC-SX4UE projector operates under very high temperatures. Let it cool for one full hour before attempting to replace the lamp in order to avoid being burned.
  • Turn off the projector by pressing the power button. Wait for the light to stop flashing.
  • Turn off the power switch at the back on the projector
  • Unplug any power cords.

  • Make sure that Lamp Assembly is set properly. Tighten the 2 screws on the new projector lamp.
  • Replace Lamp Cover and tighten 3 screws. Connect AC Power Cord to a projector and turn projector on.
  • Reset Lamp Replacement Counter.

  • When the Lamp Replace Counter is reset, the LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting.
  • Turn projector on, press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear.
  • Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s) to move the red frame pointer to SETTING Menu icon. Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to “Lamp counter reset.”
  • Press SELECT button.
  • Move arrow to select either Lamp 1 or Lamp 2. Press SELECT button.
