Sony recommends replacing the air filter at the same as replacing the lamp.

  • Before replacing the Sony LMP-H202 projector lamp let the projector cool at least 30 – 45 minutes. This projector operates under high temperatures and you can get badly burned if the projector has not cooled down.
  • Unplug the AC power cord on the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector.
  • The projector lamp cover is on the bottom of the projector so you will need to turn it over. Put down a soft cloth on a flat surface to prevent the projector getting scratched. Turn the projector over gently. Don’t lean on the projector and make sure the surface is flat and stable.
  • Sony_VPL-HW30ES_projector_LMP-H202_open_projector_lamp_coverUsing a Philips screwdriver, loosen the screw holding the projector lamp cover in place. Slide the projector lamp cover off the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector. Put it to one side.

  • Loosen the 3 screws on the Sony LMP-H202 projector  lamp using a Phillips screwdriver. Grab the old LMP-H202 projector lamp by the indented side handles and and pull the lamp straight out. Take care not to bang the lamp as you can cause the bulb to break.
  • NOTE: The Sony LMP-H202 projector lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle this lamp!

To finish the projector lamp installation:

  • Remove the packaging from the new projector lamp.
  • Lift up the handle and slowly lower the projector lamp into the projector.
  • Push it in securely until it reaches the end.
  • Tighten the three screws on the lamp.
  • Be careful not to touch the optical block inside the projector as this can damage the picture.
  • Also don’t touch the actual bulb in the new lamp as oily fingerprints can burn a black spot on the lamp when it heats up.Sony_VPL-HW30AES_projector_LMP-H202_Close_lamp_cover
  • Slide the lamp cover back onto the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector.
  • Close the projector lamp cover and tighten the screws.
    Remember to install the lamp cover properly as the projector will not turn on if the cover is loose or not installed correctly.

 Replacing the air filter

  • Sony_VPL-HW30ES_projector_LMP-H202_remove_filter_holderRemove the  filter holder. The air filter will be inside the holder. Don’t touch the fan inside as this can damage the projector.
  • Sony_VPL-HW30ES_Lam-H202_remove_air_filterRemove the old Sony VPL-HW30AES filter and put it to one side. Attach the new air filter so that is fits into the 10 claws properly on the holder.
  • Aligning the air filter with the shape of the filter holder will make it easier to install.

Be sure to put the air filter holder back into the projector making sure it aligned up properly. If not, the projector will not turn back on!

Wipe off any dust from the ventilation intake holes using a soft cloth. Put the projector back in its original position and turn it on. You’ll need to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

  • Turn the Sony VPL-HW30ES projector back on.
  •  Using the remote, scroll down to the Setup Menu.
  • Press Enter.

  • A Lamp Setting message will appear asking you if the projector lamp has been replaced.
  • Click on Yes.

  • You will see a confirmation message and the Projector Lamp Timer will be automatically reset to zero.
  • You can see the number of hours left on your lamp by going to the Information Menu.

Installing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp

Before replacing the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp follow these important safety tips:

  • Switch off the power to the Optoma DS323 projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the projector lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

2. Remove the lid and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid as the Optoma DS323 projector will not turn back on until the lamp cover has been properly installed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp in place.

Note: The used Optoma BL-FU185A  projector lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage.

Be careful not to bang the lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Learn what to do if the lamp has exploded inside the projector.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FU185A from its packaging. Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new projector lamp and insert it gently into the Optoma DS323 projector.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma DS323 projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the projector lamp. When the Optoma BL-FU185A  is approaching end of life, the lamp replacement timer will trigger the warning system. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

  • Turn on the projector.
  • Using the remote press MENU
  • Select OPTIONS
  • Select LAMP SETTINGS
  • Select LAMP RESET
  • Select YES.
  • Press MENU to exit.

Extend the life of the Optoma BL-FU185A projector lamp:

  • Chose the “STD” mode to to dim the projector lamp and lower power consumption. This will extend the lamp life by up to 130%.
  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the Optoma DS323 projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

Replacing the projector lamp

  • Pull the projector lamp up by its metal handle. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. NOTE: Don’t throw the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp into regular garbage! Since it contains mercury, this lamp must be properly recycled.
  • Install the new Dell 310-7522 projector lamp making sure it is properly aligned into the projector.
  • Tighten the two screws that secure the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp.
  • Replace the projector lamp cover and tighten the two screws.
  • You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Resettting the projector lamp counter

The Dell 1200MP projector tracks the life of the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp and will trigger the warning signals when it’s time to replace. Each time you replace the Dell 310-7522 projector lamp you must reset the lamp timer to zero. Failure to do so can result in you using the projector past the optimum lamp life and causing the projector lamp to explode.

  • To access the Main Menu press the left or right buttons on your projector’s control panel or remote control.
  • Scroll over the the Management Menu. Press ENTER to access.
  • Scroll down to the Lamp Reset icon. Press ENTER.
  • Scroll down to choose YES and reset the projector lamp timer.

  • Choose ECO MODE: Select On to use the projector at the lower power level  of 150 Watts, which makes the Dell 1200MP projector operate quieter and with lower light that gives more projector lamp life. Select off to operate at the 300 Watts power level.

  • Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour

  • Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn how to clean up a broken lamp.
  • Replace the lamp assembly with a new Canon LV-LP17. Be careful not to touch the actual bulb as oil from your fingers can leave black marks on the lamp.
  • Tighten the two screws on the lamp.
  • Put back the lamp cover and tighten its two screws.
  • Connect the AC power cord to the Canon LV-7555E projector and turn on the projector to reset the lamp timer.

Resetting the Canon LV-7555E lamp timer counter

After replacing the Canon LV-LP13 (7670A001) projector lamp, you’ll need to turn off the LAMP REPLACE indicator by resetting the LAMP REPLACE COUNTER. The counter tracks the number of hours the Canon LV-7555E projector lamp has been used and triggers the warning light when the projector lamp is reaching its end of life. Not resetting it after may stop your projector from turning back on.

  • Click on the SET option to open a confirmation window.
  • The message “Lamp replace counter reset?” is displayed.
  • Click on YES.
  • Press OK.
  • The lamp hours will be reset to zero.

  • Avoid frequent on and offs to avoid power surges.
  • Don’t let the projector overheat as this puts stress on the lamp. Make sure there is enough airflow around the projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.
  • Let the projector stand unused for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.
  • Keep the air filters clean and free of dust so it can do its job and keep the projector lamp for overheating.
  • Using “Eco mode” or “Lamp Economy Mode” can reduce lamp brightness by 20% while extending the lamp life by 50%.

  • You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Reset the lamp timer in the Epson PowerLite 740c

 

Your Epson PowerLite 740c has a built-in timer to track the life of the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp. So, it’s very important that you reset the lamp timer every time you replace the Epson ELPLP32 projector lamp.

  • Turn the projector on, and press the MENU button and the ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press the POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select SETTING and press the SELECT button.
  • Another dialog box SETTING MENU will appear.
  • Press the POINT DOWN button and a red-arrow icon will appear.
  • Move the arrow to Lamp age, and then press the SELECT button. The message “Lamp replace monitor Reset?” is displayed.
  • Select [Yes] to reset the Timer.
    When the Lamp Replacement Monitor Timer is reset, the LAMP REPLACEMENT indicator stops lighting.

Switching projector lamps

The ASK Proxima DP-9500 projector is equipped with two projector Lamp. You can switch between using one or two lamps. Use one lamp to extend the life of the projector lamp.
To change over Lamp Mode:
1. Press MENU button and ON-SCREEN MENU will appear. Press POINT LEFT/RIGHT buttons to select SETTING and press SELECT button. Setting dialog box appears.
2. Press POINT DOWN button to move a red frame pointer to “Lamp mode”.  Set “2 lamps mode” or “1 lamp mode” by pressing POINT LEFT/RIGHT button(s). When Lamp Mode is set from “2 lamps mode” to “1 lamp mode” image becomes little darker. When Lamp Mode is set from “1 lamp mode” to “2 lamps mode” image become brighter gradually.

Step 2: Know when to replace the projector lamp

Look for a change on the lamp indicator;

  • Yellow Lamp: Projection Lamp lights normally.
  • Dim Lamp: Projection Lamp is turned off.
  • Red Lamp: Projection Lamp is nearing its end. When image becomes darker or color becomes unnatural, replace lamp. (LAMP REPLACE indicator lights yellow.)
  • X Mark on Lamp: (LAMP REPLACE indicator flashes yellow.) Projection lamp is defective or fails to be turned on. Restart a projector on, and make sure lamp is on. If this mark still appears, replace lamp corresponding with number marked X.

Step 3: Installing the ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-004 projector lamp

Before installing the ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-004 projector lamp:

  • Let the ASK Proxima DP-9500 cool down to avoid burning yourself. It should be cool to the touch.
  • Unplug the AC cord.

3. Grab onto the ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-004 projector lamp handle and pull the lamp from the projector. Place to one side. Be sure to dispose of the used lamp through a local recycling program. Don’t throw this lamp into the regular garbage as it contains mercury.

4. Place the new ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-004 projector lamp into the socket being careful not to touch the bare lamp (this can form black spots on the bulb that will ruin the projected image).
5. Tighten the two screws holding the ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-004 projector lamp Assembly in place.
6. Put the ASK Proxima DP-9500 cover back in place and tighten the two screws.
7. Put the power cord back into the projector and turn it on. You are now ready to Reset the Lamp Replace Counter.

Resetting the projector lamp timer

It’s important to reset the projector lamp timer of the ASK Proxima DP-9500 in order to properly track lamp life. Failure to reset the timer may result in the projector not knowing when the lamp is finished and shutting down suddenly.

To reset the projector lamp timer:

Be sure to reset Lamp Counter when Lamp Assembly is replaced. When Lamp Replace Counter is reset, LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting.

Message “Lamp replace counter Reset?” is displayed. Move pointer to [Yes] and then press SELECT button. Move pointer to Lamp counter reset and thenpress SELECT button.
  • Another confirmation dialog box appears and select [Yes] to reset Lamp Replace Counter. Do not reset Lamp Replace Counter except after Projection lamp is replaced.
  • Be sure to replace the procedure for both lamps.

Lamp Status

The Lamp Management Function detects the status of bots lamps and displays it on screen. The lamp status is also displayed for 5 seconds when the projector is turned on. The LAMP REPLACE indicator lights yellow when either lamp is nearing end of life.

  • ON: Yellow lamp on screen: Lamps are functioning normally.
  • OFF: Dim Lamp: Lamp is turned off and not in use.

  • OUT: X Mark on lamp: The lamp has reached its end of life and fails to turn on. It may also be defective. Replace lamp corresponding with number marked X.

Lamp Mode Changeover: Lamp Management Function automatically changes the combination of lighting lamp (Lamp Mode) by detecting the status of each projector lamp. When any of the two lamps goes out, Lamp Mode is changed over from 2 lamps to 1 lamp. Lamp Mode can be switched to 2 lamps or 1 lamp manually. Check the number of lamps being used on the Lamp Status.

Changing the Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamp

Follow these important safety steps before replacing the Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamp.

  • The Eiki LC-X4L projector operates under very high temperatures. Let it cool for one full hour before attempting to replace the lamp in order to avoid being burned.
  • Turn off the projector by pressing the power button. Wait for the light to stop flashing.
  • Turn off the power switch at the back on the projector
  • Unplug any power cords.

NOTE: To maintain quality of picture (better balance of color and brightness in entire screen), replacing both lamps at the same time.

  • Replace Lamp Cover and tighten 3 screws. Connect AC Power Cord to a projector and turn projector on.
  • Reset Lamp Replacement Counter.

Reset Eiki LC-X4L lamp counter

Your Eiki LC-X4LA projector has a built in lamp counter to determine when the projector lamp should be replaced. It needs to be reset every time you replace the Eiki POA-LMP39 projector lamps. When the Lamp Replace Counter is reset, the LAMP REPLACE indicator stops lighting.
