Extreme summer heat and humidity can be deadly for your projector.

Keep your projector safe from summer heat and humidity with these tips.

  • Travel with your projector on a well-padded case that fits properly.
  • Never leave your projector inside the car for hours. Summer heat can turn your car into a dangerous oven that warps the internal components.
  • Inside or outside, store your projector away from direct sunlight and summer heat.
  • Avoid using the your projector in a room with more than 80% humidity. The excess moisture in the air can damage the projector’s electronic.
  • Projectors are designed to disperse heat via their exhaust ventilation. Taking the projector out of its carrying case will cool it down after it’s been exposed from summer heat.
  • When temperatures climb and summer storms happen, you may experience power outages. Using surge protectors, power invertors or spare batteries can stop your projector from electrical shortages.
  • Projectors are happiest working on a temperature range of 50 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit (10 to 35 degrees Celsius). Don’t operate in extreme heat.
  • Going from extreme summer heat to colder air conditioned rooms can damage the optics in your projector. When coming into an air-conditioned room from the hot outdoors, let your projector cool down before turning it on.
  • Keep your air filters clean so when the projector is working it can stay cool and dissipate the heat. If you are working the projector in a dusty environment, clean the filter regularly.
  • Make sure there is enough room around the projector’s air vents so airflow is not restricted. Make sure there is no clutter around the projector. Restricted airflow may cause the projector to shut down due to overheating.
  • Use the eco mode or dimmer lighting on the projector to keep the temperature down.
  • After use, let the projector sit and cool off before moving it and taking it back outside into summer heat.
