Installing the replacement lamp

Before replacing the Optoma GT750E projector follow these important safety tips:

  • Switch off the power to the Optoma GT750E projector by pressing the Power/Standby button.
  • Disconnect the power cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool down for at least 30 minutes. If should be cool to the touch. These projectors run using high temperatures and you can burn yourself badly if you don’t allow the projector to cool down.

1. Use a screwdriver to undo the two screws holding the lamp cover in place. The screws on the lamp cover and the lamp cannot be removed.

2. Remove the lid and place to one side. Don’t lose the lid as the projector will not turn back on until the lamp cover has been properly installed.

3. Remove the two screws holding the Optoma BL-FP230H in place.

Note: The used Optoma BL-FP230H lamp contains mercury and should be properly recycled. Don’t throw it into regular garbage. Please recycle this lamp.

4. Lift up the wire handle on the Optoma BL-FP230H lamp and slowly remove it from the projector.

Be careful not to bang the lamp against the projector as this may case the bulb to break. Learn how to clean up a broken lamp.

5. Remove the new Optoma BL-FP230H from its packaging. Taking care not to touch the actual bulb, lift up the handle on the new lamp and insert it gently into the GT750E projector.

6. Tighten the two screws on the lamp.

7. Replace the lamp cover and tighten its two screws. You are now ready to reset the Lamp Replacement Timer.

Reset the Lamp Replacement Timer

The Optoma GT750E projector has an automatic lamp timer that tracks the numbers of hours left in the lamp. If you don’t reset the lamp replacement timer you run the risk of the lamp being used beyond its recommended life and possibly exploding in the projector.

To reset the Lamp Replacement Timer:

  • Turn on the projector.
  • Press MENU.
  • Select SYSTEM.
  • Select Lamp Settings.
  • Select Lamp Reset.
  • Select Yes.
  • Press MENU to exit.

Tips for extending projector lamp life:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
  • Every 24 hours, turn off the projector and let it stand for 1 hour
  • Make sure there is enough airflow around the Optoma GT750E projector particularly if it’s been permanently mounted.

End of life warning signs

Your BenQ W1000 projector uses the BenQ 5J.J0W05.001 replacement projector lamp. When it’s time to replace the BenQ W1000 projector lamp you’ll see a series warnings appear on screen.

First warning: Order Replacement Lamp The BenQ W1000 projector lamp has been in operation for 3500 hours. Install a new lamp for optimal performance.

 

Second Warning: Replace Lamp Soon. The BenQ W1000 projector lamp has been in operation for 3950 hours. A new lamp should be fitted to avoid the inconvenience of the projector shutting down when the lamp reaches end of life.

 

Third warning: Replace Lamp Now. The BenQ W1000 has been in operation for 4000 hours. Replace the lamp immediately.  The lamp brightness diminishes with use. If the lamp is not replaced beforehand, it must be replaced after 4000 hours usage.

 

Final warning: Lamp usage time exceeded. The lamp MUST be replaced before the projector will operate normally.

 

Follow these safety instructions before changing the lamp:

  • Reduce the risk of electrical shock by disconnecting the power cord on the BenQ W100 projector.
  • Reduce the risk of severe burns by allowing the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes. The projector should be cool to the touch.

Replacing the projector lamp

  • Lift up the projector lamp cover.

  • Do not turn the power on with the lamp cover removed.
  • Do not insert your fingers between the lamp and the projector. The sharp edges inside the projector may cause injuries.
  • Lift the handle so that it stands up. Use the handle to slowly pull the lamp out of the projector.
  • NOTE: Pulling it too quickly may cause the lamp to break and scatter broken glass in the projector.

    Do not insert your hands into the projector after the lamp is removed.

  • Insert the new BenQ 5J.J0W05.001 lamp compartment and make sure it fits in the projector. Ensure the connectors are aligned. If there is resistance, lift the lamp and start again.

 

  • Tighten the screws that secure the lamp.Loose screw may cause a bad connection, which could result in malfunction.  Do not over tighten the screw.
  • Ensure the handle is fully laid flat and locked in place. Replace the lamp cover on the
  • projector.
  • Press the lamp cover down until the click is heard locking the projector.
  • You are ready to reset the lamp timer

Resetting the lamp timer

Do not reset the BenQ W100 projector lamp timer if the lamp has not been replaced as this could cause damage. Don’t start the if the lamp cover has not been replaced. To reset the projector lamp timer:

  • After the startup logo, open the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. Go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced Lamp Settings menu.
  • Press MODE/ENTER. The Lamp Settings page displays. Press to

  • Reset lamp timer and press MODE/ENTER.
  • A warning message displays asking if you want to reset the lamp timer. Highlight Reset and press MODE/ENTER.
  • The lamp time will be reset to ‘0’
  • Lamp time will be reset to zero.

To replace the projector lamp

The Sony KDS-R60XBR2 TV uses the Sony XL-5300 Replacement TV Lamp. Perform there safety steps before installing the new projector lamp:

  • Turn off the power on the main unit.
  • The cooling fan will continue to operate for two minutes after the power is turned off.
  • Wait several minutes before unplugging the power cord.
  • Wait an additional 30 minutes to allow the lamp to cool down. The lamp operates under extreme so avoid touching it before changing the lamp.

Until you set the Lamp Replacement option, a message announcing that the is at the end of its life will appear every time you turn on the TV. You will need to reset. After the Sony XL-5300 lamp is replaced, you must select this Setup option or this message will continue to appear when you first turn on the TV.

    Resetting the lamp timer

    The projector lamp timer will need to be reset after replacing the Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp. This timer helps the Epson PowerLite 480 projector to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the timer when a new Epson ELPLP71 projector lamp has been installed, otherwise the projector will NOT know when it’s time to replace the lamp. You run the risk of damaging your projector.

    The lamp hours will be reset to zero. The lamp usage timer shows 0H until you’ve used the lamp for at least 10 hours.

    • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.
    • Turn off the Epson PowerLite 480 projector and let it stand for at least one hour ever 24 hours. An average use of four to five hours per day will ensure longer lamp life.

When it’s time to replace the Epson EB-955W projector lamp follow this guide

When it’s time to replace the Epson EB955W projector lamp you’ll notice the power indicator is flashing blue, and the lamp indicator is flashing orange. You may also notice the picture has gone dimmer or the color is off. An on screen message will also appear; “Time to replace the lamp. ” You can expect 4900 hours of use when the projector is set to Normal and about 5900 hours when the ECO mode has been started.

Installing the lamp

The Epson EB-955W projector uses model Epson ELPLP78Before installation:

  • Turn off the Epson EB-955W projector and unplug the AC cord.
  • Allow the projector to cool for one hour – it should be cool to the touch. Inside of the projector can be very hot since these machines operator under high temperatures and you run the risk of being burned if the projector has not cooled down.
  • Do not operate the projectors while any of the lamps are removed as this may result in malfunctions, fire hazard and other accidents.

Caution: Don’t touch the screen or the actual bulb with your finger since the oil from your skin can cause a black spot on the bulb.

The Epson EB-955W lamp cover is on the side. Using a screwdriver to gently release the cover switch. Slide the lamp cover off.

Remove the two screws on either side of  Epson ELPLP78 lamp. Place the screws to either side. Grip the raised section of the old lamp and remove it.

Take the new Epson ELPLP78 projector lamp by the handle and gently put it into place making sure the lamp is facing in the right direction.

Replace the projector lamps screws and re-connect the lamp cover. Re-attach the power cord. Turn the projector on and let it warm up. You are ready to reset the lamp timer.

NOTE: The Epson ELPLP78 lamp contains mercury and should not be thrown into regular garbage. Recycle your used lamp.

Reset Lamp Timer

Reset the Epson Epson EB-955W Lamp Replacement Counter only when the Epson ELPLP78 lamp has been replaced.

  • Press MENU to display the RESET menu.
  • Press the down arrow to move down the menu to the RESET ALL option.
  • A prompt message appear. Select YES and press ENTER.
  • The lamp hours will be reset to zero.
  • Press MENU or ESC to exit the menu
  • The lamp timer will be a zero.

Extend the life of the newly installed Epson ELPLP78 with the following tips:

  • Keep your air filters clean to avoid overheating the projector.

  • Turn off the projector and wait until the power lights stops flashing.

Put the old projector lamp aside for proper recycling. These lamps can’t be thrown into the regular garbage as they contain mercury.

After replacing the Epson ELPLP75 projector lamp you’ll need to reset the lamp timer in order for the Epson PowerLite 1955 to properly track the lamp life. Only reset the lamp timer when a new projector lamp has been installed

  • Press the MENU button on either projector’s control panel or on the remote control to display the MAIN MENU.
  • Scroll down to the RESET menu. Press ENTER.

  • The lamp hours will be reset to zero.
  • Press EXIT to leave the menu settings
