WD60735 Screen Issues
Re: WD60735 Screen Issues
Thank you for the great explanation... I will do my best to help you out here.
I have a few questions with regards to your Mitsubishi WD-60735 Rear Projection Television and it's components..
1 - What is the lamp part number of your TV set? This helps identify the version and should be written on the lamp cartridge somewhere.
2 - You stated that changing the input would fix the situation most of the time... have you tried any analog inputs to see if those work properly such as a VGA or RCA input that is not HD?
3 - Is this issue happening on the TV Tuner as well? (When you put it in TV mode and change channels - even if you don't have an antenna you should see the scrambled blackandwhite picture).
4 - Does the distorion and discoloration also occur on the Menu System? Meaning if you hit menu, is the distortion and discoloration under the menu or over the menu? This should be tested in various inputs as well.
Please let me know and we will diagnose your Mitsubishi WD60735 projection tv further...
Re: WD60735 Screen Issues
2,3,4. The TV has gotten to the point where I'm now unable to even see the menu. When I hit menu or input nothing really happens. I can power it off or reset it and sometimes I'm then able to see the menu but it is very distorted.
Here is another picture I just took. Hitting menu or input does nothing.
Re: WD60735 Screen Issues
Thank you for giving me your lamp code... 915B403A01 lamp is for the first generation WD-60735 Mitsubishi DLP TV's which helps me look up some stuff in the service manual.
With regards to the menu, this is exactly why I wanted you to hit the menu. The issue seems to be originating from the Digital Board where the hdmi ports are located. Please read this forum posting as I believe you are experiencing the same issue with your Mitsubishi WD-60735 Rear Projection Television as our friend bryanteagan in this post:
I recommend to him a hat-trick that sometimes works and other times does not... You can try that on your set to see how it goes. The other option is to find the Digital Board and try to order one online...
I know this is not good news, but I hope it was helpful.
