HLP5063WX/XAA Ballast??
Hi everyone, thanks for the excellent information that allowed me to diagnose and replace my color wheel to keep my DLP running. My new problem is very faint and sporadic flickering (seems to get better the longer the tv is on). Also, it will sometimes shut off randomly and it's ok once I turn it right back on. Everything inside is squeaky clean and fans work. Lastly, today I was unable to turn it on - the "LAMP" light just kept blinking and it wouldn't respond. After unplugging it from the power source and plugging it right back in, everything was fine. From reading the posts here, it seems like a ballast issue (I believe I need BP47-00027A - please correct me if I'm wrong!!). Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance!

Quick Update - the flashing "lamp" light/not turning on/works when removed and reintroduced to ac power seems to happen almost every morning now - once I get it going, it works most of the day. I'm still guessing ballast unless anyone has a better guess.....

Hi charger73fan.
Yes, I think the same way, the ballast is the most probable problem. The ballast part# you have is correct.
Hope this helps.

Re: HLP5063WX/XAA Ballast??
Installed new ballast last Thursday - intermittent flickering problem still persists. Any ideas what else to look at or should I take it out back and shoot it?
Re: HLP5063WX/XAA Ballast??
Ok, then the flickering should caused by one of the boards... Check if the problem happens with all the inputs.
Also access the service menu (Your TV needs to be in Stand by mode) by pressing "Mute", 1, 8, 2, "Power". Select DDP1011 → TEST PATTERN → Press the right arrow key. Test all of the color patterns, if one or more of these patterns are flickering then your DMD board could be the problem.

No flickering on any of the colors during testing. I'll pay close attention to what input is on when flickering happens (I think it happens on all inputs, but I'll make sure). The problem is, it never seems to happen on a consistent or predictable basis (of course), but it's getting worse when it appears...

Ok, once the flickering appears again display the menu, does it show over the flickering? or it's also affected?
