HLP4663w picture is crooked

Postby gjb1124 » Wed Dec 02, 2009 6:04 am

Hi guys. I own a Sammy HLP4663wx/xaa and recently noticed the picture on my tv is crooked. It slopes down to the right. When I first bought it the engine had to be replaced along with the bulb a few times. I thought it was a little crooked then but thought I was just imagining it. That was back in 2004. I recently connected a HTPC to it via HDMI and realized it is really crooked.Since then it has only been moved to replace the bulb, the last time last November. It has always been done very carefully. Maybe not carefully enough since the picture is crooked.
I read online that I might be able to enter the service mode to correct it. I was hoping someone here could guide me.
Thanks in advance for all your help!

I would be thinking that the dmd board wasn't installed correct. is the hole screen a little off or just one corner?

The whole screen is off a bit.
Is repositioning the DMD board difficult? Oh and ummm, what is the "DMD" board?

Thanks.

there are screws that that hold the dmd in place. if it's not alined correctly your video can tilt and also you can get black bars on the sides or top and bottom. I would leave it to a tech unless you are good with things.

Thanks for the info, guys. I'll look around for some instructions on adjusting the dmd. Unless someone here has some links or experience doing it.
Thanks again.
