HLR5067WAX

Postby scooter » Sat Nov 28, 2009 12:27 am

I was told by Samsung that they knew they had a light tunnel problem with these tvs and that mine would be covered by warranty even though the orginal manufaturers warranty ran out. I took it to the tv techinician they recommended and right before we took the tv to get the tunnel repaired it quit completly. I replaced the lamp and still nothing, you can't here the chimes when you turn it on or off now. We took it to the repair shop and told him to go ahead and replace the light tunnel while he had he and then he called back and said the board is bad that is why you can't hear the chimes come on. I did notice that before we took it to him after I replaced the lamp that if it was dark you could see light come on faintly in the back ground with the black bar along the left side from the light tunnel failure. I was on your forums and noticed they there are a couple of boards you talk about. Does anyone have an idea which board he is talking about and if it is something I can buy and put in myself. Any help would be appreciated and I look forward to your answers.

Ok thanks for the information, if worse comes to worse I can remove it and send it in also. Do you happen to have a link to the digital board parts list or how to remove it so I get the right one? I really appreciate all the help I can get on this issue. Thanks again.

part number is bp94-02084A and it is the board that has the hdmi jack on the back of your tv. it's in a metal case. it also has the two screw on cable/ant jacks.

OK I removed the board and on the cage surrounding both boards it says BP94-02084A but when I took the cage apart and removed the card it has a number of BP41-00237A and when I go to the DM web site it shows a picture of the BP41-00237A and it looks just like it, which one do I need and is it the same problem with the solder flowing? I can enclose a picture if that would help.

It's the same part number you can try the board if they still have it or you can send it off for a solder reflow.

Ok thanks Jason I will box it up and send it out for the reflow first and go from there. Just was not sure why I was getting two different part numbers or if I was sending in the wrong board.
