Hey everyone, I'm new to the site and I am PRAYING that I can get some help!
I have a 61" Samsung HL-r6167W that we purchased "unused" from a store that claims it as a "display model" at Costco or something. Anyway, the TV has been GREAT! About 2 weeks ago, I turned it on and then POP! CRACKLE!!!! The bulb obviously blew, so we unplugged everything and left it that way. We went to Best Buy, they ordered us the bulb, and my boyfriend (who is an electrician) installed it when we got it in the mail. We turned the TV on (without any inputs plugged into it) and got the blue screen for about 3 seconds (just said Component 1), and then it shut off and the "Standby/Temp" light flashed until I unplug the TV. This has happened every time we've tried to turn it back on.
It powers up normally, the only weird sound I noticed (and I cant remember if it's always done this) is this very quiet little "chirpy" fan noise. I've done my research and it sounds like MAYBE it's the color wheel? But how do I know for sure?!
Any help would be SOOO SO SOSOSO appreciated!!! :)

did you put the lamp door back on? if you did make sure you didnt brake the switch that tells the tv the lamp door is closed. this model will turn off it the door isn't on or if the switch is broken.

I accidentally posted this twice, and I've gotten that same response from you and someone else. What does the safety switch look like?

it will look like this. make sure you didn't brake off the blue part that sticks up. It will be at the bottom side of the door when the back lamp door is removed.

Wow. You are my hero. My boyfriend didn't even try to put that big panel on the back side or toggle that switch. I held it up and turned the TV on... IT WORKED! Put the back panel on and it still works! Thank you thank you thank you!
p.s. I feel like an idiot!!!

You may want to clean all of the fans since the tv is getting older. to do that you need to remove the big back pannel. that goes accross the bottom side of the back. One fan blows on the dmd board one fan blows over the lamp, one fan blows on the digtal board. when these fans and heatsinks get full of dirt parts over heat and it makes it more likely that your tv will have iussues young. Heat is hard on electronics.
you can use compressed air like people use on computers. By doing this most likely your tv work last longer.
